New Orleans Area?

I recently picked up VF4:Evo and have been doing a bit of training, but I am pretty sure that I will have little to no competition in my area (not that I am good, I just do not know anyone who plays). This is my first VF game ever (I perfer 2D) but I am looking to get better. If there is no one that wants to meet up, does anyone know of Arcades in the area with VF4 cabinets?

Penny arcade on Royal used to have a VF3 machine but both the machine & the arcade are gone. There are other Penny's in nola but I'm not sure where they are/if they have vf/if there's any comp. My little brother, the always gorgeous OffBrandNinja will be going to Tulane in the fall so maybe y'all two can hook up. Just down the road a little (72 miles or so, in Baton Rouge) there is a house where we play religiously & you are welcome anytime...just pm me for details. Anyways...have a ball & happy fighting.

 

I'm tempted to make some long speech about Koen-Ken taking over the world, but instead I'll just welcome you to the ranks of VF. Yea, I'm moving down to New Orleans in less than a week to start school, so we might be able to get together and start a crew down there in NO. Only problem is that I won't be playing much (if at all) during the week due to school. But yea, feel free to PM me and we can see if we can get something started.

Hey hey!

I really did not expect to get any responses to this. Still I am happy that I did. Technically I live in Belle Chasse but I work in New Orleans (CBD) so I am familiar with the area.

Right now I am working on my first character ever and the fist VF game I have ever owned. So there is no rush in setting this up, I still need practice. I am looking for some help none the less (with training) and against humans is the best way to learn.

If your evar available on the weekends and want to come over, my wife (who is attending Delgado to get her RN degree) works Friday nights, so I have a tendency to turn friday nights into fight night at my place.

It is cool if your uncomfortable with that though. If you want I can make some calls at arcades, but my budget is like super non existant while my wife is in school.

I would also like to mention that I do play many other fighters, and have a NeoGeo arcade cabinet, so if my VF4:Evo skills are not up to par I could challenge you to ohh say, Last Blade? Perhaps Garou: Mark of the Wolves?

Sorry 'bout that. Here's the nitty. We all work nights and weekends at the same diner right off the LSU campus. This means our play time occurs a little before and a bunch in the mornings after work. Late Sunday evenings (starting around 9:30pm) is when we have a decent sized (6 or so) group playing hotseat. If we know we are going to have a visitor though, I'm sure we could arrange some competition for pretty much any day of the week. Our setup is ghetto fabulous and shall very shortly be ghetto spectacular, if that makes a difference. Again...sorry about not responding sooner. Hopefully we can work something out.

Sorry about that as well. I just moved to my dorm, and things have been a little chaotic. No, more than a little. Fuckin crazy. $650 on books later, and more than a few packs of cigarettes (sorry, Fred, bad habit I'm aware), and I'm wondering how in the hell I ever thought I'd have time for VF during school. Hopefully I'll still get enough training for FSB. Anyways, if I have free time at some point I'll definitely let you know. Later folks, I'm keeping the OBN skills alive in other pursuits.

Hey they actually have peeps in BR who play? Lemme in lol. I go to Slu, kinda similar schedule to yall. Im a rookie, but would love to play some games with yall. I play SF competitively, used to play VF2, just got into VF4evo but i love it. Somebody holla back >=)
