New SHGL update about EVO

There is a rumor right now that SHGL will be getting rid of there Evo machine by the end of this week. So I was thinking of a Friday night meet at around 8pm. If you cannot make it please call SHGL at (714) 895-5613 and make them change there mind on getting rid of it. Please post if you plan on going.

Any reason why they are getting rid of it? Of course it's probably not making any money compared to any 1 of the 4 Marvel vs Capcom 2s.

I'm not sure if I can make it on Friday, but I'll try. And if they do get rid of it, I'll be sure to let them know that 10 people with a willingness to spend lots of money will go where Evo goes.

 

supposedly its the test version for the u.s. . They are still deciding if there going to get the U.S. version... that is all

 

Well, I suppose if we keep going there to play, it will make their decision a little clearer.

I spoke to someone there yesterday or the day before about them removing the game. I was told that if it left SHGL, it would probably go to Camelot. Camelot = good for LA, not as good for San Diego.

Camelot currently has VF4 ver. B. Clear but somewhat distorted monitor, crappy controls (buttons straight across = pain in your hand, especially on 2p side). Small cabinet (two players practically lean against eachother).

what ever happened to AI getting evo? I thought they told you they were getting it? Have you been by there lately?

hey Bryan...welcome back. I have been to AI at least once a week. They still don't have it. They originally said they probably would, the they don't know, then a maybe. Basically the same type of answers every week. As soon as I see it I will let everyone know.

 

Sorry to inform you I won't be making it today. I have a friend's birthday down here i gotta celebrate - plus i just went there yesterday.

I have faith in evo's stay at shgl off the fact that they're getting appr. a hundred bucks each time one of the big gatherings takes place there. So that's like what, around 200-300 they make a week?

Considering the game stays put, anyone up for next Thursday?

 

Well, the game was still there on Friday night. I had a friend pick up some tokens for me the night before (cheaper rate), and ask about whether the machine would be present. The counter person said something like "I think I've been asked that question 8 times in the last two days." Very cool that people are showing their support by inquiring.

Maybe we can mount an effort to get the MONITOR CHANGED (although I can't see any way to do this other than giving one to SHGL since they haven't chose to change it already). At least the vs. settings and the prices are very good.

David and I went up there today(Sunday) and its still there. I was one of the 8 people that asked about it and they just told me its a possibility that they might take it out. Ill try to call tomorrow and talk to the manager about it.

Just curious, but if they decide to dump it, do any of the cali players (cough cha cough) have the resources to purchase the machine?

With a shit monitor and imperfect sticks, you should be able to get it for a nice price. Or skip the monitor and arrange for your own.

 

well the thing is, Thursday is still a pretty tentative date. I get back from a Vegas trip that day and come back down to LA for some Good Morning Miami interview with a school club i'm in, so I thought afterward I could make arrangements to meet up with one of the sd crew at shgl for a ride back home... /versus/images/icons/smirk.gif
