New VF3 glitch

When I made that other post last night, it completely slipped my mind to post this. The other day I fired up VF3TB on the Dreamcast and a few matches in, this happened: http://www.youtube.com/TerryxMasters

Now I'm not really a big forum guy, I only really frequent one place so here's the post I made over at NeoGeo.com:

The details: I play everything on the hardest difficulty. I got my ass handed to me pretty quickly, but in the process of screwing around with it I noticed that the AI stops progressing if you just crouch and punch. I haven't been able to figure out what triggers it. I can't make it happen on the first or second stages. It seems to kick in on the either the third or fourth stage and afterward you can just skate through it. It could also be a time release deal, and I haven't tested it yet with other characters.

Again this was done on the DC version, but I want to see if it happens on the Model 3 too. It works on both Team Battle and Normal mode, so it shouldn't matter whether it's a 3tb board or just plain 3 but I could be wrong. I don't know if anyone here owns a VF3 arcade, but I am interested in seeing if this happens on the Model 3 versions. If nobody has one then at least you guys can enjoy the video. You can also see the VF2 Dural glitch that breaks the game in my list of videos if you scroll down a bit.

 

i have fond memories of the VF2 game breaking glitch in the arcades (pissed off manager). thankfully all you had to do was reset the game

nice find on the VF3 AI glitch, i dont remember this being documented (maybe it was so minor and "useless" that it wasn't even mentioned....still nice find though!)

ps, im still waiting for an update on demul emulator, that VF2 hair is lol

 

haha, yeah - we'd break the VF2 machine when we were bored and then try and play with the messed up polys and directions! Vf3TB too. When it hit Detroit we drove up and immediately discovered a bug that crashed the machine if you were in team battle mode and you tried to change you team after winning in versus. the polygons went insane.

the AI glitch looks similar to the VF3 OB "mid high" glitch that shut the CPU down, just a different way to access it. I will try and boot up the VF3 board and replicate it this weekend. need an excuse anyway
