Maybe there's a place in Las Vegas that can supply appropriate cabinets for the games. At least it would be less to haul around for people who have access to the Naomi 2 systems.

I've just received a PM back from Mr.Wizard at SRK saying the same thing.

So, it's now my job to arrange for Toronto's FT to be at EVO. Logistics, logistics, logistics.

And Smurf, that's exactly what Jerky is saying. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've no doubt that if there were an FT in Boston, and Jerky had the means to get it to EVO, he would. As should NYC. As should Toronto.

.cheers.

This has the makings of a fantasybook novel doesn't it?

"3 cabinets, scattered throughout the lands... the one who brings them together will yield a power so great...."

I'd be impressed and happy if you guys could pull it of so GL to all of you.

if we can get card readers and all that would totally be the shit.
being that FT is pretty much dying down here, and will be really stagnant after tougeki, maybe we could arrange for them to be brought over.
heres to everyone having version B!

I thought the problem was with GTN? What was that whole bloated arguement in #vfhome about how they'd be out SO much $$$?

Look it's a big decision and I understand if the NYC crew (no not just Andy, the people who have contributed to get FT in NYC) has reservations, but I think the outcome would be incredible.

So far there's support from Toronto and California on the US side of things and we've Japanese liaisons in the form of Dave and Eric.... talk to us man. I know at least I'm all ears.

Eric,

I tried to send this as a PM and your box was full...

Thanks for your help in this endeavor. I read that you're saying I don't need to bring entire cabinets with VF hardware inside. Tell me what I need to bring for you to wire up a supergun set-up.

Talk to you soon,

Talis

Even though my views on VF here in NYC has always been different compare to some ppl. The Team comes first & for most & so I'll leave it @ that.

There are certainly 3 setups in the NAVF community and I have the technical know how to run it on Superguns (Yes, it is possible, I have done it multiple times.).

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I didnt think you could hook up Naomi 2 boards to a Supergun. I'm curious how you'd hook up the card reader, do you just plug the reader to the board and thats it? Does the reader pull voltage from the board our the cabinet?

Well that sucks. Is Toronto able to bring theirs stll, or is the whole thing pretty much a bust now? We still could use our kits too, whenever we get them. We own them ourselves so the only way we couldn't bring them is if they expect us to haul 2 big Astro Cabs ourselves cross states, or if we just can't make the event at all for whatever reason.

We defintely need some form of VF FT event this year, whether it's at Evo2k5 or somewhere else.

Plague-
I expected that Aracde Infinity (Tao's) to say no. Thanks for trying.

Texaslion-
Nice to hear that you guys will help support vf at evo2k5. Don't worry about bringing the cabinets. We can hook up everything to a supergun to save you the hassle of shipping the cabs. The only catch is buying a supergun and getting good controllers to mod for the supergun.

Llanfair-
Just waiting on confirmation from you if you can helpout in the ways of bringing your ft setup?

Well, California and NYC are out of the picture for donating setups, which leaves us few options to make this a reality. I propose that we hold a raffle for a ft full kit at evo 2k5. Every entree could donate $50 towards a chance to winning his or her own full ft kit. Before you go off the deep end and say $50 omg! wtf! You could easily save $1 a day to help support this cause and make this possible for all of us to enjoy. 30 entrees @ $50 could easily cover the cost for the ft full kit. Here are the costs as follows:
Full Ft kit from gfront aracde shop in japan as of 4/27/05 (136500 yen) which equates to 1304.47USD without shipping.
Shipping would have to be calculated from one of our contacts over there. Also, getting cards would be another expense. All of us would have to decide on who would raffle off the tickets, so all complaining about whatever could be avoided. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks for your time
Tim

just to let people know:

you don't have to use a Super Gun to run the game on a TV if you don't want to.

for our Evo board, we used this little box that's made to run a PC on a TV, with a standard monitor cable that comes off the I/O board, into the box, then out of the box with either S-Video or Composite.

for the controllers, we used a Jamma harness which we wired up to some Namco sticks using the wiring diagram in the manual.

If anyone wants to go from Socal, I'd b happy to lend our one version of this set-up off our Evo board for use.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with arcade kits. When you say "full kits," that doesn't mean cabinets too, right?
