I saw some people are playing it.

    How do you like it?

I really like all the gameplay innovations, levels look beautiful but slowdowns are really annoying. The game loads kind of often and at times it does hang for a sec. Annoying. I've heard it could partially depend on overheating and on the status/life of the console.
Still, I'm very happy with the game.

I bought the game today pretty much what I expected, very good action and tons of new moves for each weapon.
you can get very stylish combos using the new obliteration moves /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

on the first level when i had the difficulty set on warrior I experienced horrible framerate problems so much that it almost stopped a couple of times... at some places i would even call it unplayable
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

i switched difficulty to acolyte and because there are fewer enemies the the game doesnt slow down as much( just a theory, i dont know much of these things /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif )

maybe it has something to do with the summerheat here probably about 30 degrees celsius in my room where the 360 is

It really seems to be a hardware heat issue rather than a problem with the game. I'm afraid you'll experience even more slowdowns (even proper hangs) in the second level (which is really beautiful).

I hope they might release an update or a even publish some kind of NG2 Black. Since Itagaki left Tecmo, they might want to milk the NG cash cow a bit more.

Maybe a PS3 port might also give us a more solid framerate...

I am playing on Warrior and find it to be very easy compared to the previous game. Other then that its action packed and lots of fun!

Well, NGBlack was NG+Downloadable updates. I think they've said they'd be willing to do a rerelease... but first they need to release downloadable content. And then they'll need to judge whether the attach rate of XboxLive on the 360 still makes it worthwhile to actually publish a second disc.

Can't wait for the PS3 version(You know is going to happen) The camera in this game is freaking annoying. I haven't played it, but watching my homeboy play(And scream at the TV, lol)Is driving me nutz. And the framerate chugging into the mix.....Seizure time. But, is still a awesome game(On what I've seen)
I only thought it was a few enemies you could chop of their parts, but the way it seems, is mostly everyone. "There Will Be Blood" No shit, more like the Alantic Ocean.

Had the game for a few days, hella suprised that game.co.uk ships games out early. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a good game but it's too similar to the first one, infact it's pretty much the exact same game.

I don't mind the camera that much, it is worse than the camera in the first game though. The convulsing camera thing it does when you're near a corner doing an ultimate technique is just hilarious.

The only thing that really bugged me is where you are walking up these stairs and like 200 enemies charge at you... Would have been able to get a pretty decent combo there if the framerate didn't slow down to 1 frame a second for that entire section of the game.

One of the last bosses is too stupid too, took me about 2 hours to beat the bastard cause the game don't think it's fair giving you checkpoints on just that one boss.

That's exactly why I love NG2. "More of the same" is the way to go when the original was as close to perfection as it gets IMO.
Although the second level is REALLY bad in terms of in-game loadings and dodgy framerate, the est of the game seems much better and I'm loving it to death.

The part that I was talking about with the framerate issues is pretty late in the game, it slows down so much you can't even attack properly... All your moves come out 10 minutes after you input them.

It turns what should be a 5 minute battle in to a 40 minute one, that's more than just a dodgy framerate haha.

I understand which part you mean, I was really disappointed with level 2, but everything after that (level 5 for me) has been very good.

However, I'm HUGELY disappointed with the way Leaderboards are organised. the Karma tally doesn't take into consideration the number of kills nor the play time.
Basically, it's just a challenge at who plays for the most time, since apparently even successive playthroughs continue to add Karma to the total of the first playthrough.
    Rubbish.

Tech annoyances apart. Im loving it a lot. I really enjoyed the enemy designs.. Execpt 2 VERY Stupid looking bosses. The others are REALLY cool. Effects are great. Weapons are fun. I enjoy the enemy dismemberment, the AI was great. The enemies do a lot of different stuff. And u can save some replays wich was a nice addition. Altough I've found it more fun to see how I died than to see how I killed them all. LOL. Overall I really enjoy more of the same hardcore action. However I find normal difficulty too easy. Why cant I start on hard from the beginning??? Argh thats just stupid. Why FORCE me to play it on normal. Its a waste of time. But hey overall its a great game. I recommend it IF u can get over the thechnical annoyances. Like already mentioned slowdown. For my 360, it has been kept to a minimum. Maybe only a few seconds. But its there. Maybe just rent it first.

Ive been playing it all day- I think it's great!!! I get a loading screen here and there but ehhhh.
Has anyone else had the AI take cheap shots at you? I swear like everytime I turn a corner a non-visible fiend smacks the shit out of me. I'm like damn dude, let me get around the freaking corner first!!

Anyone experienced any problems with the downloadable content? If I go to use any of the costumes I downloaded, the game really struggles to load. 80% of the time it doesn't load at all....

It's fine when I use any of the costumes I unlocked in the game, tis weird.

The difficulty is a big deal to me. Even on Warrior, the hardest available from start, I am not dieing. My friend actually has been playing on the same and he is 100% new to the game, never even played the first. He is doing just as well.

As flashy as the game is, with its cool fatality's and neat AI, its lacking greatly in the hardcore department. Though I have not beat it to earn the harder modes I feel I shouldn't have to. Remembering back to the first release I found my self struggling on every single level and mastering Ryu's skills was an achievement in itself. A new player could NEVER load up and not die.

I was a HUGE fan of the previous installments, owning sigma and always trying to better myself in the game. However with this installment, I am giving it a 6/10. It seems like a casual players game with some add-ons for those that want to rush through the content and play hard mode.

i didnt play the previous ninja gaiden (sigma?) so admittedly i had no expectations for the game so i figured it couldnt disappoint; i was so wrong..

i hate games that cant figure out what to do with the camera, i dont like being regularly attacked by guys i cant see; its lame, very poor programming and its just discouraging.. the camera control alone keeps me from buying this game..

beyond that i dont really understand the fascination with the game; its ninja gore porn and thats being nice about it. ive seen enough horror flicks and bad movies to get bored with blood and guts pretty fast (hills have eyes, Saw 1 thru 10 anyone?).. the 'shock value' rates a 2 or 3 outta 5 the 'wow did you see that / i cant watch meter'..

also, pressing x 40 times then y 5 times really isnt that interesting to me.. the combat reminds me of assassins creed (which i keep gettin blasted for saying) so much that i just hold block and counter to start combos.. yes you can dig deeper into the combat system and i does reward players that can remember 32 x presses with 16 different directions but i can do that by accident anyway..

overall, this game rates a 2, tops 3 outta 5.. its not a bad game if thats what youre into but i just dont get it.. i dont see the skill involved past having the discipline to keep playing through the poor camera controls and repetitive inputs.. theres no coop, no multiplayer and leaderboards dont count as an online component to me.. its just not my thing and if i wasnt gearing up for an achievement war with a friend of mine i probably wouldnt play this game again..

    i just dont get it..

RedSon you are on point. You said quite a bit that I didn't bring up. But the previous version was not like that at all. There was learning combos and particular strings among other useful techniques. The camera was still an issue but less then it is now, especially since Ryu is like a jumping bean on screen now.

Also Black and Sigma were both just reincarnations of the original Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. Some add ons, better graphics, weapons, etc. This would be the first real sequel in regards to the 3d versions.

Auvill, you stated that you spent quite a bit of time on the Previous NGs learning and perfecting the system.
Dosent it kind of make sense that you don't find the game incredibly difficult on normal? Of course I don't know what to say about your friend. Maybe he is just a bad-ass.
Me- I am playing on warrior and I have already died over 100 times-- and I'm only on level 7!! One thing that I do like about the game is I'm not able to defeat enemies simply by walking up to them and pressing a button.(ala Dynasty Warriors) I have to block, counter attack, move evasivley, and fight strategically.

It's definitely easier than Black, that's for sure. A few bosses got me on the first play through but the game is too easy on acolyte and warrior difficulty settings.

Thats a good point. But about a month ago I jumped back on the original since I hadn't played in some time. I couldn't even beat the first level without dieing.
