1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Does anyone have this or any other rom cart? I was wondering what are some of the best homebrew software applications that you use for it? I use the moonshell for mp3 playback and have games on it. That's about it.

    Thanks.

i have the nintendo ds ._. and if you don't want spend a lot in videogames, you can buy a Revolution 4. It's an adaprot for the micro sd, and with a os specific for the nitnendo ds you can upload many games in only one cartridge.
The game i love to play are:
    1) Phoenix Wright 1,2,3 and Apollo Justice (the same type of game of PW)
    2) Pokémon Diamond, but all the magic about pokémon is gone... if you are not a fun don't think about it
    3) Sim City
    3) The various Training (brain training, sight training, etc...)
    4) Mario kart DS of course /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif one of the best game for nintendo ds

I played personally these games. And there are other games you have to try once:
Trauma Center, Animal Crossing World, Mario Party (and the other games if you like mario), Metroid Prime Hunters if you like fps, and i don't know. there are so many types of games that i can list everyone in one post. Just Ask what you want and try to find someone in a catalog.
But seriously, buy a r4 and you can play everything /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Mister,

Hi and thanks for replying. But I am not sure if you read my post or not. I have the dstt. It's a rom cart just like the revolution 4. I asked if you can recommend me any home brew software. I didn't ask for game recommendations. I already have a ton of games that I enjoy playing. Thanks for your reply.

I'm sure posts like this are going to convince Sega that releasing VF5R for consoles is a great idea. Why should Sega service a market of people who will gladly NOT pay for games?

    I fucking loathe pirates.

Homebrew is cool, but what sucks is that 99% of people buying these piracy enablers don't give two shits about homebrew/indie, they want their WAREZ.

What do you think of downloading ROMs of old games that you can't buy anymore to play on emulators? I'm a fan of SCUMM games and some of those games, like The Secret of Monkey Island and Zak McKraken and The Alien Mindbenders, are games that I can't find for sale anywhere.

    Try here.

Emulation is pretty awesome IMO, though I'd like to see a way for these older titles to be made available cheaply and legally so that their original creators can still earn something off of them. I really hope services like Good Old Games take off. Check them out if you haven't already.

    Stop making weak-ass excuses.

Secret of monkey island is easy to find; pc version has sold on ebay for as little as $12 recently, sega cd version even cheaper.

Zack mckraken is rarer, sure, but is still available on ebay for a little more than the cost of a new current-gen game. If you can afford a DS, surely you can afford money for games?

For the OP, I dont know much about DS homebrew, but there's a legit GBA version of Another World you should check out if you havent http://www.foxysofts.com/?l=content/gba/anworld.inc

Yeah, Secret of Monkey Island was easy to find on ebay. There's a bunch of different games in the series though, and I couldn't find them all. I didn't see Zak on ebay either. Maniac Mansion was there, but I only saw the NES version for sale, which I don't want. There was a lot of crazy omission of stuff with that version (Microwavable hampster FTW!). I'm really only interested in the PC versions of these games, anyway. I'd like to play Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as well, but I found no results on ebay or anywhere else. Of course, if you know somewhere I can buy this game, could you show me the site?

BTW, check out this cool fan remake of Maniac Mansion by LucasFan Games (Now defunct) called Maniac Mansion Deluxe. It's pretty cool.

found a really nice comic book program for the ds. It's a nice homebrew software. You can move and zoom around each page and everything. Cool features if you like to download comic books or fanzine.

The tough issue comes when the emulated games are feature superior to the non-emulated games, which is especially true for PS1 and arcade titles.

It's the same issue the PC games industry has as well. They want to use DRM to protect their titles, but using the DRM makes the titles inferior to the pirated versions, which gives a massive incentive to pirate even to customers willing to play.

It's not a tough issue at all. Buy the game, support the developer, then emulate/hack/whatever you need to do to get the game running on your hardware.
