No US release date yet...i need Evo import help ?

I can't wait for SEGA or whoever has the call to give a NA release date for evo so I plan on importing and some kind of modification to the good ol ps2...what are you guys planning to do... ride out the wait...if not tell me what kind of mods are you gonna get or where are the cheapest import spots on the net... /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

Buy a japanese PS2 and import the game. I know it sounds like a bunch of money.. but it's the best way to go.

 

Well, you can mod your existing PS2 with chips like Messiah or Ripper - they run everything, including imports or burned CDs. Just remember that not every model can be enhanced with those, only the newer ones.

 

actually, it probably is'nt since you will most probably miss out on the full training modes, player edit text, and even world tour mode if it's all in japanese..

it may even be pretty much a spoilt game unless alotta things are in english..... but hey, don't let that stop you. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

well, I guess you can wait to see if it will ever come out in US or Europe, probably having quest mode hacked and missing features the japanese version will have.... While those who import the game will be playing it already come March 13th....

I won't miss out, after all it's a fighting game...the nearest arcade is 45 minutes from home, and someone has the nerve not to give a release date...I admit it's gonna take some trial and error to figure out all the menus, but having a ring name like penis is alot better than reading EGM praying to see a NA release date...am I right, or am I right. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

 

P.S. And im sure someone who can read japanese on this site wouldn't mind helping me out with the menus...especially if they have the game and wanna kick knowledge. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...but wouldn,t it be F*cked up if the come out with a better or a newer version for the NA release of evo... /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I'd cop that game too... /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yes. Said arcade is evo enabled. And then a ten minute drive (2 right turns) lands you at the little baton rouge vf oasis that my house has turned into during off hours. Anyone is welcome if they are in the neighborhood...pm me for details.

jherb-people on this board have pitched in to buy their own evo boards to put in their local arcade. Someone in StL footed for an evo machine in their home. Hydra just came back from Korea. More than a couple have flown to japan to play. I don't know, maybe you can't get a ride. I assure you though, 45 minutes from evo is considerably better than average...you just don't know how good you have it.

well, i'm more interessted in reading up on the new trial training mode, especially for quick resource and interactive examples, i could not do that in japanese, and i certainly would'nt like to read it off a peice of paper in translation.. sup to you.

 

Excuse me but like CreeD said... 45 minutes is far away? LOL. Come on, be a little more dedicated - be grateful that you have an Evo-enabled arcade AT ALL. If my arcade had Evo, I'd go there almost every day - and it's a 30 minutes drive throught the busiest part of my city.
