Non Japan Ver. Costume Changes

This is just something I noticed while fooling around with the final version of US Evo at the local Sega distributor today.

Vanessa's 1P and Brad's 2P costumes have been changed from the Japanese version.

Vanessa's 1P is now the same as the 2P military costume, except that it's all beige/gold. I guess they were going for a desert camo look, but it ended up looking golden (you can see it in the new Akira combo video Shinz made at TBZone). The original 1P is much cooler IMO.

Brad's change is that instead of the red shirt and Black pants/shoes, he's got a black shirt with Hawaiian print and khaki pants. Also, his shoes look more like slippers and less like the steel-toe mail-man shoes from before. In Japan, the floral prints for his shirts are special items, so it's cool that they decided to spruce him up a little. Overall, he looks much cooler.

I wish they had decided to tweak the other characters a little like they did Brad, adding permanent items (IE giving 1P Akira the beard) or changing the colors. I cycled through all of them at character select, and those are the only 2 changes I could see.

Too bad about Vanessa.

Yeah, I noticed this about a month ago when the first Korean clips came out and I saw that Brad's 2P outfit was different from the one we have here in Toronto (japanese GDROM). I brought it up on IRC with SummErs at the time...Didn't notice the Vanessa change however /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Eh? You mean it's just a palette swap now? That's... stupid. I don't see the logic behind that, as one of VF's staples has been separate costumes for 1P and 2P. Did Sega think a visibly thick-muscled woman would scare players away or something? It's not like she's unattractive, quite the opposite.

It's good to hear that the world can see Brad's true fruitiness, though.

 

Wow. What is up with Sega of America? First they censor Shun's Rage Guage and now Vanessa's booty gets covered up? Have they seen what's currently out on the gaming market today? There about to be a XXX BMX game release the States and Vanessa can't wear some aerobics wear? SOA lay off the crack rock please! I use to doubt this at first but this stunt all but confirms it.

 

Not to mention DoA Xtreme Boob... er, Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Sadly, that game seems to the the X-Box's first killer app here in Japan.

Finally what what the outfit looks like... ick. Too bright. If she went out in combat wearing that thing she'd practically be an enemy fire decoy.
