Non Soldering Mod Chip on Ps2!!

Recently I bought an Asian set SCPH 30006R in Singapore...I want to mod it to play dvdr and cdr games...would like to know if my set is compaitable with the no solder mod chip...i m not sure if my set has the latest v5 boards as they said it is not compaitable with it....would appreciate if some one would clarify...

 

The no-solder R-mod chip worked with my 30001R model (v5). Heard it works with all 3000xR models...

BTW, I bought the mod chip to play JP VF4 on US PS2 because I have no intention of purchasing a JP PS2 just for one month of play before the US version comes out.

Let's do a little spot check. Have you ever, in your life:
(a) Installed DOS, Windows, Photoshop, MS Office, or any other kind of single-seat software license on more than one machine, or used someone else's copy of any of the above for your install?
(b) Used WinZip, Nero, mIRC or any other shareware utility for more than 30 days without paying the author of the software?
(c) Ran Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa, LimeWire, or any other kind of P2P software and served or received at least one copyrighted file?
(d) Stored any mp3 onto your hard drive or burnt any CD with any music or videos that weren't originally purchased by you?

If you have answered in the affirmative to any of the above, you, sir, are a fucking pirate. If you have answered "none of the above", then you're a fucking liar.

Hey, people who mod their sets are not usually into pirated stuff. All this DVD Consortium stupidity has locked the whole world into zones for crying out loud. As a result this invaded the damn console game market. Sorry can't play this can't play that, your console is from Japan and US games are not allowed to play in it.

This is dire not for gamers but consumers in general. As you have heard Sony has won the battle on the Messiah chip. This doesn't spell good for all of us. Sony being one of the DVD Consortium members wants to keep this shitty system. All their DVD players are not region free. Compare this to Pioneer or Panasonic who seem to see the light and stupidity of the matter.

So before you go slamming on people who mod their sets, think of the legitimate users who just want to buy US original games for their Japan/PAL/Asian modded sets.

Again I say, I have no intention of buying a JP PS2 just to play VF4 one month early. Did I ever say I was not buying the US version? I have dropped close to $1000 on the arcade version, bought 3 PS2 VF4 sticks, placed my preorder for US VF4 already, and basically bought my PS2 *just* for VF. Other than VF4, I have 4 games on my PS2 -- GTA3, MGS2, Ace Combat 04, and G-Darius (actually a PSX game). All of them are original. My PC games -- UT, Emperor:BFD, Tribes 2, Quake 3, etc. are all original. I understand that your reading comprehension ability may be limited, but try brushing up on 4-syllable words -- which part of "original" can you not understand?
