I can almost smell the beautiful goodness of the RAP from here. Come to daddy!

I'd buy a massive cuban cigar just to celebrate.

I wonder, I'm just gonna see how much Res Ev 4 and a freeloader disc would cost, could I get that from Lik-sang/play-asia?

In my eyes, a games tester is the best job there is. Getting paid to do the things I do in my free time sure sounds like a cool job to me.

hahaah welcome to hell my friend, welcome to hell..............

playing the same game for the next three months? playing a game you dont like, one that has class A crash bugs every second and having to play it nonstop for the next 8hrs of every day? Being looked down upon by the rich marketers and producers who have three hr 'social breaks' while you have to wait another 4hrs for ur cig break? Getting paid 5 an hr while half of what ur getting ur paying on transport and lunch?
Have career prospects? Become a gametester where industry heads will look at u as always being a gamestester, the lowest of the low, and not having the sufficient skills for other high paying, enjoyable jobs.

yes, game testing is THE ultimate job..............

PR is where its at, its not all bullshit, honest.

i used to get all the saturn and n64 games for freeee

now i only get EA games for free, but at least my mate gets £23k

but then again you get that working in a big tube station listening to radio while thinking whats a good day to strike

    I'm not a loser, I don't smoke /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's also an excellent starting point in an industry that is notoriously difficult to get into as a developer. And in the absence of anything more interesting around here, it isn't bad.

I have a degree, this just gives me something to do while I look for a "proper" job, and if something better comes of it, then all the better.

    well then good luck.
its just that i know a couple of heads at sega who got degrees also but have been on a shitty QA salary of under 20 K for the last three years. And they plan to become developers too.

hmm, whats that? a familiar tune i hear of shattered dreams..............................

Ah, career prospects and having a life is all over-rated, so is a big wage. I think that being paid to sit and play video games, no matter how trite they may seem, has got to be better than a job where you actually have to WORK!
maybe I'm just a lazy son-of-a-bitch, but playing shit games for a living would suit me fine. Hey, at least you get to experience the shit games for free, instead of the rest of us who have to pay £40+ to find out that The Operative: No One Lives Forever is in fact the sort of game that you wouldn't even use as a drinks coaster, through fear of the ultra-shite graphics infecting the real world.

    Re: Time to RAP

Ade, I finished SH4 a few weeks back, did you find that it wasn't as good as the other ones?
I felt it was much too short, and there wasn't really much to the game, other than finding items and clicking everywhere to see where they went.
Apart from the puzzle in the morgue with the numbered bodies, there wasn't anything particulary taxing about the game.
do you think I would get a decent price for it if I took it to blockbusters and sold it?

P.s. I think I am going to get a RAP, because the neo geo I was looking at is supposed to be more for 2-D fighters, and I don't really want it for anything other than VF. I'ts a shame I can't find a VF stick, coz that would be the best option.......

    Re: Time to RAP

I actually got my RAP the other day and It is highly recommended. If you want the best stick, I would defo go for that one. But be prepared for it's HUGE size (It's massive!). Also, it's V expensive (the total price was £100.77 after the import cost and shipping and DHL deliverly!!!!!!).

SH4 is a great game and I commend Konami for attempting something different (with the Shenmue style movement in the house). It's defo not as good as the other's, but it's far too short IMO. Although on Hard it's TOO hard imo, although I've always found the SH series too hard on hard, if you catch my drift.

    Re: Time to RAP

Yeah, the hard modes really are hard.

About the stick, Andy said that there might be another charge when the stick comes into the country, is the true, or is the amount you pay on the site when you order the stick the total amount?

    Re: Time to RAP

There is an extra charge, at least there was from PlayAsia (who I got the stick from). You'll need a flat 100 to get the stick, just to be sure.

It's one of my gaming ambition's to complete all the SH's on hard (I've only done the first one to date!).

BTW Your profile say's you are using Wolf and Akira, Ithought you were using Sarah?

    Re: Time to RAP

This is how the cost works out:

£XX is for the stick from the site

£YY is for the shipping (eg UPS, like Ade's was...there are various different shipping companies you can use)

£ZZ is for Tax hike...when the nice UPS man delivers it to your door, you'll need to pay him to the order of £25 or so for this. I had to for my Sc2 one and for Ade's RAP so I'm guessing you'll need to do it for most sticks (how they work it out is actually listed on the box so you can see whwre the extra charges are coming from).

Basically, if you want a RAP, you'll need close to £100.

If you're getting another stick, you'll need close to £70.

That is if you're importing them yourself, sometimes you can find them in odd shops or through friends of friends etc...

I really liked Sh4 for th story, it's very complex the way it plays out in comparison to some of the other titles. Plus some of the monsters are great new additions. The hard modes are more insane than usual, that's for sure.

NB To anyone who ever writes a Masters report in theoretical physics and has to do a presentation on it: Don't assume you can get by by just knowing what you wrote about in the report!!! I was supposed to give a 30 min presentation at 4.30 with my 2 Masters partners last night on our topic and our supervisor turned it into a gruelling 1 hour 50 minute crucifixation of us. Not good. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Re: Time to RAP

Defo get a RAP if you afford it. It's worth saving up for IMO.

Chris, sounded like you might have had a hard time in the presentation, gald I don't have to go through all that!

Devil Jin is released, and he's great (look's mint too) but I think Kazuya has more mid moves and is better for mind games IMO.

I wan't Troc to get VF:FT before I pass the point of no return on T5!
