Well, I pmd a few of the london based guys I know of round here and no luck I'm afraid it'll just be the ususla crew. Oh yeah txtd delune but he can't make it either. As for r type...well it was £16 not got it yet but I like the look of it. Out of the kindness of my heart and for an added incentive for me and ade to do well, a 4 pack of fosters (our new sponsors for the sexual manchester meets of woe {roll a D12 to proceed to the dungeon master of Astragtarthhhyyy level....etc} /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) is being offered to 3rd place. 1st n 2nd get money in the ratio 70-30 % or something:

1st T shirt 70% of prize money
2 nd 30% prize money
3 rd 4 pack of fosters

Of course in the event of shaun coming 3rd ( lol not likely /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ) I'll need to see a written permission of concent form from a parent/guardian.

I'll add anything more when I think of anything more I need to say.

Reet-o !!!!

4th June is the date I'm leaving machester n going back to liverpool till 18th september! Good thing is I'll still be living where I am now next year only in the newer block so we'll have the big tv room to use again if we ever manage to get a tourney going again. I'm sure we will sometime.

Almost finished FF 1 now so I can get back to trying to play Vf with Akira, Pai and Aoi,,,,plus the skanks you know about ade! Heres to jackys ...... ...... etc lol

Spam the following moves to infininty:
+, Remember to 'mix up' with delay's and only using the first hit. Also use + before and after
+, + The Ramsey special (this moveX5 in a row! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
+ Evade+++ The tactics advice scrub special.
ff+ Hmm, well it hit's mid, stagger's, can hit people out of tech roll, what more do you want to know?
bf++ Full Circular, need more info?
++ To change foot stance.
side Shuffle 'Mix up' between df+, and +,

That's pretty much my Jacky 'strategy', well apart from tech roll backstagger stuff /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hmm, now here's a question, who's cheaper Jacky or Sarah?

Jacky:
+ Abusable moves
+ Change foot stance with a special move
+ Heavyish Character (Float to the ground faster than most)
+ 'Easy Cheesy' Combos
+ Usable on a pad
+ Well represented in Tournament's! (Hmm, something of an understatement!)
+ Good for when the stick's are broke in Trocadero (No modified move messing about!)

- Shaun uses him REALLY cheaply
- So does Ramsey (when he turn's up!)
- Below than average throw direction's
- Scrub Friendly
- Consistenly toned down in every VF (No kidding, in Final Tuned, I heard they cut off his arms! ...Only Kidding!)

Sarah
+ 11 Frame Jab
+ Great for flow chart's
+ Easy high damage combo's
+ Good on and off counter hit
+ Flamingo stance cheese
+ Great thow direction's (and a catch /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif)
+ High Frame Advantage on a lot of move's (RE Flamingo!)
+ Also Good for when the stick's are broke in an arcade
+ Also usable on a pad

- Lightweight, bad for extra combo's on he
- Sometime's like's raw power in close matches
- Crappy 'Yahoo!' win pose
- A lot of high moves, not many safe mid moves
- Scrub friendly

Hiya guys, nobody told me there was another meet.Havent had internet access 4 a while so havent checked board in a while. Dont think I will be able to make this one (but maybe I will), when is the next meet?

Ade, you think everyone is cheap, when in fact, YOUR JUST SHIT! the reason you get beat by "Cheap" tactics is because your rubbish, you cant see past the end of your nose and so you cant anticipate anything. all you do is spam out the same moves over and over, you ALWAYS fall for punch/throw and you dont input ANY throw escapes, and then you throw a fit when anyone tries helping you, but refuse to play when you lose. THEN you have the cheek to call me cheap coz i am miles better than you, and if your next arguement would be that i am not that good, that only further proves my point that you are utter WANK!

Even though he continues to beef me with Jacky /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif I found it pretty refreshing/interesting to play against as Jacky goes. No overt elbow abusal. Often risking the neutral punch inashi and taking big risk/big reward gambles more often than not. ( ing me when I was in jumonji stands out in my memory). None of these things id associate with a 'cheap' jacky.

He does however have a highly fucking annoying Jacky. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyways I'll let you all get back to your imminent arguing. My advice is to sort it out over a nice game of vf and a glass of achmed cola.

Thanks for the post Slimadey, who is coming to this meet, Im not being lazy in not looking at the previous posts I'm not allowed to look at the net so have to do it real quick. It looks more likely that I will be able to make it this Saturday actually. Do we have any money going on this? Is my man Pinking coming this meet?

Shaun: Dude, you've got more problem's than Tyler Durden and Donnie Darko combined! Oh, and I've played competition MUCH better than you and they get this, don't gone on about how good they are, they just ARE great at VF, they put themselves out to play in tournie's ( /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) I'm looking forward to goin London on the 4th June so I don't have to put up with you. Until you prove yourself by playing the best in the UK (I.E. London), which is ironic because until you 'experience' the standard of London play, you'll always misguidedley think you're the best player of all time, EVER! (Which, sorry to shatter your ego your NOT). That's why I'm going London, to IMPROVE, I know I'm not that good, but I'd much play the higher standard there than the 'standard' in Manchester (Don't get me wrong, the people I've played are safe as hell) but trust me, it's worth the effort to go to London, I'm HOPING Ryan, Dai and Co. will be there this time (Last time Ryan had tournie committment's in Paris and I think people were saving for Absolution, which is fair enough). The only reason I'll be there on the 15th is because it's a bus ride away, and to play Chris, Ste, Ramsey, Das, Andy and Will, Don't expect me to be friendly with you, you push thing's WELL too far.

Sarah Analysis

Having recently got back into Sarah (due to some serious Jacky abuse!) I have remembered her serious potential for tournament use. I seriously hope she isn't toned down TOO much in Final Tuned (I hear Dragon Cannon is Elbow Counterable on guard and ,+ is now Punch, Knee,) but I hear flamingo has more moves ( /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif) and she has a new throw, so it ain't all bad. She really is the queen of flow chart's, you attack, attack, attack with her if you know what your doing. I find it bitterley ironic that the majority of top japanese players use her in a machi style, this is probably due to the number of high moves she has and the juggle starter's that can 'pop' underneath and launch her lightweight self.

I'm still loving her amount of moves that give her frame advantage on guard, it really is her 'advantage' compared to other character's (esp. the high risk>high reward strategy of say, Akira or Jeff /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif). I know Sarah isn't perfect (light as a feather, high moves, not many POWER based moves, but that is Sarah's 'way' if you will. I'd still love her to have a reversal of some kind, but it would remove from her style of play.

I'm still surprised that to this DAY, there is almost no strategy strat threads (the Sarah dojo on this site is Vf4 ver.B!), which really puzzles me, cos there is certainly LOADS of Sarah player's the world over, in fact I think she is a contender for the most used character in the world (if you take into account ratio of different countries). before anyone spam posts, I have read the Sarah 'Unique' Combo and that's good, but we need more, Sarah player's unite and take over! (Sorry, I couldn't resist a Smith's reference! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)

BTW Sarah is technically my 'second' character, I'm even more addicted to Kage! Chamone!

and YOU were the one that started this shit up by calling me cheap when you have no evidence to back this up, no one in scotland seemed to think that i am cheap and neither does andy, you just suck at the game and make loads of school boy errors. i have never claimed to be the best VF player ever, i only claim to be miles better than you which is true, and it isnt because i am really good, i might not even rank "average" compared to all there londerers, i dont care, i just get real pissed off with you when you start making stupid, false, unfounded remarks about my play. i am just much better than you, deal with it, stop being so bitter and try and let me help you. i dont know why you take such a disliking to me, maybe its just coz i get pissed with you for crying about everything, you have to remember that is is just a game , and that they are ment to entertain you, not to get you into a temper tantrum.

Yeah man sorry forgot to tell you about the meet but I didn't know how tight money was. If you can make it the more the merrier. Like Ade said its 15th may ie a few days away on saturday. I'll text you sometime today in case you haven;t had a chance to read any of this. There is money involved but only for 1st n 2nd place players and a 4 pack of fosters (our sponsors!!!lol) for 3rd place. Its a league system not a tourney though.

Do you seriously think Jacky isn't cheap? REALLY? I'm not saying he isn't a good character, hell, even I've started to use him. You CAN use him well, but don't turn round to me and say you don't skank, cos I can smell a lie like a fart in a car.

Potentially Akira can be cheap, but it has to be against someone who has his command's and setups down to a t. A prospect of an Akira player who can sabaki/reverse/spod/dlc 100% scares the hell outta me, even more so than any other character, why do you think Akira is consistenly raped in every VF4 (I mean look at him in FT!)

Anyway, I doubt I'll be coming this Saturday, I've got better thing's to do than put up with you for an entire day. I'm outta here.

 

High level Akira

Hmm...yeah I must admit high level akiras sacre me more than any other characters in vf since he has such a huge range of tools like ade pointed out. Sabakis, reversals, guard breaks, SPoD etc... a true Akira player (and I'm certainly NOT talking about myslef here) can be totally destructive with him but of course it depends on the level of the opposition as to how well the akira player can be made to look.

IMHO I don't think Akira has any cheap tactics...well unless you can GB > SPoD perfectly or land MC SDEs with perfect yomi which lets face it isn't really being cheap. Some chars you can play cheaply ... Jacky, Sarah, Lau, Pai (maybe) kinda spring to mind but as I've tried to point out before if someones cheap, then its partly YOUR fault for not dealing with it. Rambo was like that with me and steev all the time (same in pro evo /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif ) and he sees nothing wrong with it. For him if it works, abuse it! (eg + + and + )

I don't wanna incite a flame war on cheap tactics or saying peeps are crap etc... but I think we all need to have a think as to how we play and why we are all at the level we're at in terms of vf. If we're constantly losing then work out why and if you're constantly winning...well why not try out new ideas and experiment. Theres so few of us in the group I don't want us falling out like big girls all the time. Please guys just try to get along and let the vf ing do the talking.

Ok, ok Akira defentley isn't as cheap as, say, Lau, Jacky, Sarah etc etc but he IS Evil, even in his 'abused' form of Evo (I think I'm the only one on this thread who remember how skank he was in VF2!).

We'll have to see about Sat, as I'm startin the gym this weekend (time to lose my big fat butt!). Although I guess it COULD be put back to Sunday, hopefully I get my Sarah to do some serious damage (Flamingo Forever!).
