NYCG3 I'm anxiously looking forward to getting my ass kicked

I have to say that I only played with the cpu and with a pad but since I'm willing to learn and not bitch. Please don't be nice and let cans of wip ass open with no reservation. Come September time I'm going back to school. I having seems such devotion by fellow arcade players since the days of SF II Turbo Champion Edition with all 4 machines at the Old Broadway Arcade always being packed from open til closing. It's too bad that VF doesn't have as many mainstream players here in the states compare to Japan, oh well it's their loose. I have to apologize to everyone since I'm not as technical with all the VF characters as I would like since I am a dedicated fan.

 

Don't worry kungfusmurf. I play with a pad too and I suck. So when you get there, there will probably be some heated matches between you and me. lol.

 

Have you read the Akira FAQ posted here by hiro-sensei?
Are you prepared to practice the movements suggested at arcade this Saturday morning. The Gotham VF Breakfast Club will be there for the opening of the arcade. We can practice executing and counter measures such as proper dodge tactics outlined by hiro-san before it gets crowded. Last night I practiced the Sarah FAQ posted by piccolo in training and then Kumite. I will bring the counter-list for Akira and other FAQ Guide materials as well. KFS (imho) it is important to practice with arcade stick before NYG3. Lemme know if you can be there for coffee and VF4, OK? Tonight I will pracice the Akira movements. I've found it very helpful to learn step by step all characters. Lei and Akira are next on the list for study. GP-sans Aoi Guide, Chanchai's Aoi Elbow FAQ, ETP and Alan Tan's Vanesa FAQ, etc., have all helped me enjoy this game immensely. A walk through hiro-sensei's Akira FAQ can not hurt, eh? PM asap.

KFS, you don't have to wait for NYG3 for your ass kick. Just come down to CTF, Shag and the gang will pounce on you once you put in your 2 tokens. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif I know because I got my beatings over there too.

Shag's right, the only action in town is over at CTF. The only time everyone shows up is on friday nights after 5pm though. But, you can join NYCat in early Saturdays. Personally I haven't see him in action yet, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

As always, I stay at CF till late and wake up early afternoon to miss another Breakfast Battle. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

We stopped matches short yesterday because the second side "kick" button was spazzing out. I also forgot to tell Henry about it when I saw him later in the evening. /versus/images/icons/confused.gif

<font color="ffffcc">I got to Mott St. before the arcade opened so I went across the street to Hop Kee for a cup of java and a pork bun. HammerHead, your Lei is amazing.
I think I ate df,df+P,P,P,P,P,d+K (12,18,9,9,9,5.) and uf+K,P+K,P,P,d+K (16,8,12,12,5.). Gulp. Nice delays on combos and strings, JK! Jacky and Jeffrey were almost your Lei's equal in metting out damage. The two brothers ( full-back or hit man sized ) that used to visit Leisure Time arcade back in VF3tb days showed but left after getting their butts kicked pretty quickly by HammerHead . They walked away shaking their heads to shake out the hurt. I had a ball kickn it with Lion, Vanessa, Aoi and Wolf. Best match (imho) was the one were we went to sudden death: Jacky vs. Aoi. Thanks to GP's and Chanchai's Aoi guides I felt pretty good wielding Aoi in battle. Hope to see you again at the CTF arcade. Henry, If you peep this get VF4 EVO! nycat: Thanks for the compliments. Now I have to work even harder /versus/images/icons/smile.gif . It was too bad you can't stay longer. You missed the fun(I explain below). You should work on your lion a bit more, I think you almost could have finished me off if you didn't miss a follow up. Oh yeah, don't TR against jacky players. You did good, and I hope we will meet up again some time soon.

Alright, here the story: Two weeks ago, I played against a very good jeffry and lei player at CTF (never have a prayer against him). I want see if he's here today, so I went back for another round (I think he's either omaha jeffry or piccolo).

After 3pmI was fighting against the cpu, then this Aoi player join in. I play with him once two weeks ago. I beat him w/ my Jacky. Now, He's pretty good and got me a few times when I try out my Vanessa. Later, I took out wolf and jeffry both win once and lost afterwards. So I have to use my main man, kage. Kage dished out the most damage. The aoi player is good but he relied on long range too much; To win with aoi, one must be aggressive. So if your reading this, Aoi player, no hard feeling ok? It's only a game and this is how the game should be played, just look at movie clips. It is very up close and personal. Here's some tips, once out of range, don't relie on + . Also use ++ on TR or rise attacks , it's a great way of setting up throws. Because aftter dashback Aoi's + is not that usefull even if it hits you're not close enough to go into throw or elbow guessing game

Ok, that's when a few more good beginner players came in. Of cause I can't let them leave without a good lesson, VFDC style. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

haha. re: second kick button. I was having a ball stomping HH... when he told me the kick button was not working, shucks. /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif Manager opened machine and fixed it pronto and then we really rocked., er, HH really rocked... My variety of tech rolls were almost universally punished by his <font color="ffffcc"> Jack HammerJacky </font color>okizeme. Ouch. I tried to apply hiro-sensei s lesson on dodge attack and dodge TE but invariably HH chose the most punishing and obtuse throws or delayed a bit to consistantly defeated my TE attempts. Of course it could just be my infamous banana fingers. /versus/images/icons/blush.gif I did enjoy mixing up Lion's throws and because of his abundance of throw command directions faired fairly <font color="red">* </font color> well with this character as well as Aoi with respect to throws. I must give props to HH for not using his main character Kage; /versus/images/icons/shocked.gif shudder the thought. His second and third choice characters kicked out the jams with enough elan to cause several peeps that were considering challenge to walk away ( slink?), uh, slink away! /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif . ;(

I forgot to mention that jacky vs Aoi sudden death was the most memorable. I'll probably remember it for years to come. The strangest thing is both of us fell out of the ring at the same time in the first place. funny stufff. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

I think your right, he could've been piccolo. The guy I played against is good with Akira, Kage, Jeffry, and Lei. When he used Lei, I got backstagger 2 times when I try to TR;I almost lost the whole bar! So, I stayed away from TR after that. /versus/images/icons/shocked.gif It was all good.
