Nice matches but those vids don't seem to show Homestay playing his best.

Yeah it's Japan's Homestay Akira and he went to NYC.

 

Oh my gosh, there is a big mistake in one of those movies.

Match : Ryan_vs_Homestay3 is not me but actually KYASAO VS HOMESTAY.

That was a special exhibition match that they played at the hotel.

KYASAO was awarded a prize for the win.

 

So then every movie between you and homestay is on all openstages lol. Pretty funny in the light of recent things if you know what I mean. Really great matches btw.

Of course they are all on open stages /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif didn't you read the report? I got totally owned on the closed stage matches. Why should I post those matches up? So that the jealous Ryan haters can get a kick out of watching Homestay do something they never could?

I only got like one game or something on the Arena stage. There would be no point posting those ones cos they are too one sided. I'm not ashamed of the truth because I already posted all the results anyway, yes, he did own me in the Arena stage, thats a fact but after thinking about it I don't mind too much because Akira owns Kage on Arena full stop anyway, someone's gotta hold the joystick. I just don't want to make the haters happy by posting those movies. Also people always complain and say that's what they dont like when internet movies are one sided.

So I think that it's good that there is a mixture. I had this chat with Myke and someone else a long time ago about one sided net movies. They know what I mean.

really enjoyed the vids and the reports. I'm allways supporting the underdog (yes, you guys /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)but I must say that the NY/UK scene is getting further & further away from that position. Which is a very cool thing cause that means less distance to travel to learn equal things.
About the 'haters' (see the tournament thread /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif) that's beyond my comprehension. there can be a million reasons (girls, spilling beer, not using the search,...)a man bitches another man but A VIDEOGAME isn't one of them.
I know that's not the reason for not posting the vids-the reasons you're giving are valid, but yet I can't be helped still feeling curious about the other vids. Ofcourse seeing someone taking the total beating is no fun, so maby if someone is up for it you can make a 'mix' of the parts where Homestay uses the wall in a tactical way and leave the parts where the wall just comes in handy for extra damage

 

An observation, Tsuujin. I have noticed that some of the open stages you play Homestay on are the smaller VF4C versions, and not the larger Evo ones. Whether or not this is intentional is anyone's guess, but, do you not find it somewhat unfair to be using stages intended for a different version of the game than what is being played? I mean, it's fairly obvious that Sega expanded the size of the open stages in Evo to reduce the number of ringout wins.

Anyway, can we expect more videos from NYG5 featuring other players?

When he was in Japan(March), he escapes TFT in every possible 'Blue Moon' situations u can think of.

Anyway, I could be wrong as u speak Japanese and would have told him to be more serious.

I agree. I watched a lot Homestay's movies and he does get out of throws a lot! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif
But i also thought that when Ryan chose his more stronger character, Kage, he did step up his gameplay, which was quite enjoying to watch /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

After Minami Akira my preffered choice of Akira was OHSU. After the last tournament win and his latest movies, Homestay is creeping up my chart!!

It has to be open stance, works on light chars (or mid if not recovered). After b,f+p, you have to press f,f before the lp. Has to be fast, and you'll only see a tiny little step before the lp.

I love watching Homestay, Inotchi, and Minami akira for their execution and technical skill. I like watching Ohsu cuz he can be brutal at times, but he does tend to make more mistakes than the other 3 imo.

Well simply "in the light of things" ment, ofc, in regards to your report / current flamewar with Shang etc. Now I'm gonna out on a limb here but I don't really care (I love watching you play as you should know by now anyways).

If some Japanese proplayer is invited over, I don't think he should need to feel some great pressure of performing greatly against someone (you weren't playing a tourney or for a certain number of wins were you?). I'm amongst those ppl who doesn't think he was playing very greatly with throwescapes or even "to win" really hardcore. You clearly were though (which probably is natural) - but it's what you do after that counts. Should it be treated as a feather in the hat / signature etc?

Did homestay even know you were gonna post results this seriously? And further more - if you intend on posting clips from your matches; you certainly shouldn't censor which clips you put out for fucks sake (cause ppl want to see ryan loose??)... specially not cause you feel you didn't do so well on the other clips.

If you don't see how wrong this might look, I don't understand you. Wether you still claim Kage vs Aki is 5-5 on open stage and 3-7 to aki on Closed (I'm suprised nobody has argued about you on that point but I'm certainly not anywere your legue to have that debate but imo it's ridiculus - is Aki the only player who can do damage from wallhits or something?) or other things is not of importance.

Why don't you post the clips then so all can see just how much Homestay took advantage of those walls in the rest of the clips? We see you using RO now anyways. Let people themself make up their minds - and as to clips of vfrape being non intresting I highly dissagree. I also (sorry) highly doubt you would complain if it was the opposite and you were the one dishing it out.

To sum it up; if I played against you (who I know is better) - and after only posted selected clips of which I win more - how would you feel Ryan? I believe you would get pissed (as you seem to react strongly to similar situations). Hell, Archangel got pissed cause we hade some clips that he had played on the Swedish vfsite that he himself had posted here without asking him first if it's ok. I even feel things like this could hurt longtime relations between Japanse and Western players (hell they didn't even want last years EVO clips to leak out did they?) but that's just me and since I live in the Nordic countries the odds of me ever seeing one (without travelling myself) is slim to none anyways. I just think it would be ashame cause they certainly feel sensitive about these things imo.

Those were my honest words anyways; I don't want to start some flamewar with you (and never intended to) but you actually do come of abit as arrogant at times (but I know it's easy to be missunderstood on the internet - hell, many ppl on this site hate me, I know it, and I don't care either) so Shangs points perhaps weren't so far of but don't think I'm taking his side. Well that's that - have a wonderful life and good luck with your future VF playing. You and a handful (if even that) other players are probably the only players in the west that can compete on Japanese level. Just don't go shooting yourself in the foot.

Hi, I just want my 2 cent on this, too. Among the matches posted, when I was watching Ryan vs Homestay 5 the last round, I said to myself "Holy crap", as Homestay kept on going for reverse nitakus 4 times in a row and got hit by every single thing Ryan threw out.

It was when Homestay was winning by probably 200-30 lifewise, and he was going for a SPOD when he got hit by Kage's and ate the combo which doesn't seem to be the usual Homestay Akira style to me at all.

I think Homestay would of kept on getting hit by something until he died if Ryan didn't knock him down with there cause it seems to me that Homestay Akira was probably going to attack until the end of the world.

It would been quite funny if he died like that. (by eating 15 MC high Ps in a row or something) A death like a real man?!? /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
