octagon gate on 360 stick=better VF5 play?

hi, i was thinking of switching out the 4 way gate with a 8 way gate in the hori ex2 for the xbox 360. i was wondering vf5 would play better with it or not.

Bad idea. You need clean diagonals for VF.

I use an octagonal gate and really don't have any problems. I think it's more of a preferential thing. I used to use a square gate and I can't really tell the difference between my execution on that and the octagonal.
