Odd news of the American/PAL release of Evolution

So far I have seen about a hundred screens of Evolution during fights and showing quest brackets, where the names of the AI fighters, are not the same ones from the Japanese home version (which features profiles from the Arcades of Japan, as well as some others). But these names such as Appe Pai, Upside Down, and Boots2U, I all remember from the American version of VF4 in Kumite mode.

Does the PAL version of VF4:Evolution still have the famous names from the Japanese arcades, and does it have made up ones as well? Are any players missing that they included in the Japanse version also?

 

Don't know too much about the high class japanese ais as of yet but I do know for sure that I've been facing an awful lot of old names from the kumite in vf4 ver c.Strange though as some of the higher rank ver c ones are lower ranks in evo eg zombie Aoi and some of the lower rank ais in ver c eg SPoD boy are higher in evo.

eh, he was in VF4 I think..

Was he difficult to beat, cause then it would be him? Did he use the TFT and other high damage combos, that is how he programmed in the Asian versions?




So far from what I can gather, the PAL and American versions are going to be far different from the Japanese versions, especially in the character name department. In other thread someone mentioned that there were names removed such as ****666 because it had "666" in it, too offensive. But why is it that there are names such as one from Kumite from VF4, the description of VF Evo in Sega's website is the exact translation of the one on their Japanses website, but things are different out of the box.

If Sega didn't put the Japanese players in the PAL and American versions................they are pretty fuckin stupid.

 

Hmm I think they will desinately have put in top players, be bloody stupid for them not to.I fought a guy called Osua Akira or something.I'm afraid I'm outta touch with high class jap players so I don't know if he is one.I also fought a mask du TH or something who was a very good Brad and I know there was a High KIng Jacky by the same guy in ver c.If you want me to be really anal I could print a list of all the ones I've fought so far ( theres a list to check you've beaten them all )...

 

Yeah, the ones you just mentioned are well known players. Sounds like most, or maybe all the real players from the Japanese version are in there.

 

yeah he was damn hard to beat finally did it after 2 goes took his emblem to (bitch). How do u spell his name i cant remember.

 

I've played against loads of others now and some of the names are those of High Kings from ver c and they were real jap players so it does seem that they are in the pal version fpr sure.I'll post more when I'm definite about the names and ranks.

 

Heres some more I do know of:
Heruru, Lei Fei guardian rank with 3 orbs
Ryhul , Akira destroyer rank
Chibita , Lion ( of course!) champion rank with 4 orbs
I managed to beat Chibita as well!Now I can brag to my friends ( if only they knew who he was...)

 

Napoleon was in there with his phoenix rank

 

So far from what I can gather, Sega did remove some of the names, but only the ones that "needed to be censored." Mostly ones with religious themes in them, such as God or 666 etc. being in the name.

Heruru, Napolean and several others were not in VF4 version C, so my best guess is that Sega put all the high rank Japanese players in, but populated the lower arcades with VF4 Kumite opponents.

Aniaki ,Akira Guardian rank and one orb
Homestay Akira, Champion 2 orbs
Also if any ones bothered Akiras 7 orb item is long bangs.Not sure why its called this its actually just floppy hair.My Akira looks like DREs picture now lol!

but has anyone notice the PAL version didn't have a timer in the Command Training mode? i wish they left that in. it was funny beating your own personal best while training.

 

Yes I must admit that disapointed me too.It'd always take me ages to go through first then like you say I'd try and beat my time before starting kumite.Kinda like a warm up.

Back on the names front just beat BurunX2M ( I think )playing as Wolf Guardian rank .Obviously Bunbun Maru. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

 

Actually, I think that's somebody else. That particular player goes under Daiginga now, IIRC.

 

don't they know you can't choose a new name once it has been accepted? It would be like Neo choosing Marty or Piccolo choosing Sudden_death.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Napolean and Ohsu Akira have special ranks for themselves ( Phoenix and Daredevil, respecively)?How did this come about?

Napolean won Kakuto Sineki I, and Oshu won the Gogetsu tournamenta which was a month or so after that. Whenever you win a tournament (in Japan on VF.Net) Sega awards your VF.Net accounts character with a Rank. For KSII Minami reveiced Emperor.
