While VF5US adds more stuff for online. It does nothing for offline VS mode. Really, just compare offline VS mode in VF4EVO to offline VS mode in VF5US:eek:

Offline VS Mode for VF4EVO had: 12 Battle Modes:

Normal -- Regular VF match (and replays could be saved!!!!)
Knock Down -- Take more damage when knocked down
Iron -- 1000 health , 1 round, no time limit
    Contest -- Opponents Bounce Longer
Maniac -- Mid Air combos do more damage
Survival -- Health carries over to next round
Wrestlers -- Throws do more damage
Wall -- Take extra wall damage
SeeSaw -- Recover Health by damaging opponent
Counter -- Counter hits cause extra damage
Ultimate -- All hits cause extra damage
Hyper -- Create your own combos

So offline VS fights could be played in any one of these 12 modes:cool: In addition to the 12 Battle Mode options for VS4EVO Offline VS, replay could be saved in normal VS mode. Yea, the focus of VF5US is not just as
an e-sports game, but an online-only e-sports game:( So far there's no luv for the offline VS mode .

Why couldn't VF5US have these options for offline VS mode:confused:

Clearly pandemic scheduling and the Sega Anniversary affected what features could be delivered this June, but there is no reason why the game has to remain bare bones at this point.

And make no mistake about it VF5US is the most feature poor version of VF ever sold. Seiji Aoki in his initial blog said that VF5US would be the definitive version of Virtua Fighter for a new generation:mad:

"Sega put together a new team of developers from AM2, the original creators of the VF series, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios – combining extensive console expertise with a deep passion for the franchise to kick off development on a definitive Virtua Fighter game for the new generation. "

So far VF5US does not even hold up to VF5FS feature set. I don't see how VF5US could be considered the the definitive version of VF. It has no real single player content. Nothing special in the way of Offline VS. especially if you consider VF4EVO offline VS mode. How can VF5US be considered the definitive version of VF:cautious:

    VF5FS -------------------------------------- VF5US
    • Arcade Mode ------------------------- Arcade Mode
    • Online Mode(s) ----------------------- Online Modes(s)
    • Training Mode(s) --------------------- Training Modes(s)
    • License Mode
    • Special Sparring Mode
    • Scoring Mode

If Seiji Aoki is to be believed there must be a helluva lot more content coming for VF5US in the way of DLC and Patches:meh:

I wonder how much more we'll have to pay for a complete VF5US than we had to pay for VF4 EVO:sick: And will the definitive Virtua Fighter game for the new generation come even close to the feature set of VF4EVO:(

I'll pay them $200 for the game even if it's incomplete or whatever. It's not like a new VF game comes out every day and they are not putting a gun to anyone's head. Lots of people complaining about customization. Just download a Barbie game.
Final showdown was a masterpiece. It's a miracle they were able to remake it so faithful to the original. I am thankful, just for that.

What you're saying is true. Especially about the definitive version for a generation. (cynically it's the only version for the ps4 generation, so by definition its the definitive one)

But I'm thinking of this release more as a demo than a full-fledged game. I think of it as a Gran Turismo Sport equivalent to virtua fighter. A test for perfecting their online capabilities.

Hopefully, success in this game will lead to a VF6 that has all of those features and more. Probably on Ps5, XBSX, and pc...

Yeah, VF4 Evo is a monster, when it comes to offline VS. modes. There is supposed to be a mode, where you can hit grounded opponents with low attacks.
