Ohio OMC3 VF results

The format was round robin seeding, then a single-elim tournament. There were 12 players split into 3 pools, resulting in a 3-person round robin. The the #1 and #2 round robin finalists played a single set finals match.

Thank you for everyone who particiapted in the 3rd OSU VF tourney. It's amazing how far we've all come as I know exactly how we played in the 1st OSU tourney. TE was a rare thing, and I remember people wowing on me escaping Dandy's TFT after my double palm gets blocked. Such a good old dayz. =)



Seth and Dan: Thank you for making the trip to Ohio. You guys made my day. Seth's on his way in becoming one of the better players in the U.S. now, and Dan VS Dandy in the tourney was a nail biter. I thought Dan was pulling the upset. Great matches.


I have to give huge props to my boy SH_ for his great showing in GGXX. Nobody I know plays both GG and VF at the level you play in as both games require tons of dedications. Hats off to you for carrying your team in the team tourney and taking the 3rd place in the single tourney. Now treat me with some tomatos with the money you've earned already! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif



Jerky,Fastino, and Danny: Thx for the interest. You guys thinking and making an effort of coming to Ohio to play&hang out with us is flattering and much appreciated. You guys are always welcomed in Ohio.



Jason Kim: Thx again for making us VF group a part of your tournament. Huge props to your team's showing in the team tourney, and you've also got mad skillz in running tourneys. Watching the tourney had me wish I had learned GGXX. Great stuff.



Final notes: Ohio's aquired VF4 Final Tuned finally. I got to play about 200+ matches on the first day we got it and loved every moment of it. The Ohio VF scene is open to anybody in the VF community. If you want to play FT, let us know!

I felt shitty all weekend, but I loved playing VF with everyone that showed up. Shame we couldn't play more.

Maddy - A few more sessions against your Akira and I should be able to follow what you're doing. I'll dig around in the game and practice more situations like low backfist, mid-high strings, etc. Getting away from the opp and seeing how they react is good shit, too. Ketchup on pizza is pretty insane, though. You should talk to a doctor about that.

Dandy - We didn't play enough at all! Good shit as usual, though. Come out and play more, Jimmy and Sean miss you <3.

Sean - GGs in the tourney and in casual monday morning. The stuff you showed me with Brad was really interesting, and it's pretty clear he's a completely viable character in VF4. I can't wait to see what horseshit you'll cook up with him in FT.

Avi - You managed to beat me! ...with a bunch of fucking shenanigans. But still, you're a good player and shouldn't create so many mental blocks for yourself with the tearing and shit. You'll be fine, just keep playing.

Chicago - I heard you guys tried to make it, but couldn't. Oh well. There's a slim chance I'll go to MWC at this point, but if that turns out to be the case, think you guys would be interested in some games?

Are you coming back to Columbus anytime? If so, get a hold of us through VFDC if you want to play VF with us. We have a small but nice scene here in Ohio.
