1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Okizeme questions

Ok. Okizeme in VF4 is a whore and a half compared to Tekken. I really really really SUCK at VF4 okizeme. I mean that if my sucking in okizeme attempts in VF4 were somehow changed to a gravitational force, we could get rid of the sun and just put me at the center of the solar system doing okizeme attempts in practice mode. I've got a couple questions about techrolling and fast rising and what vitamins to take to correct this deficiency.

    1) There seems to be a difference between tech'ing (breakfalling, quick recovery, etc etc) and 'rising from prone' vulnerabilities. I believe that at least SOME techrolling characters are (theoretically) vulnerable at certain points (whiff whiff whiff), but are rising from prone characters also vulnerable, or do they always have the option to block attacks/evade when getting up?

    2) Speaking of theoretically vulnerable characters, is a quick recovering character *always* vulnerable for a certain phase (example: the back turned point in a side recovery roll), or is it only certain techroll cases that they have this vulnerability to striking attacks/techrolls (i.e. they can't block or counter with a striking attack), such as the 'face down head towards' falling recovery in the practice series?

Something to get you started. I did a rather big Oki guide for Brad; shame noone else on this site fills in with other characters instead of fighting over shit in random threads cause then you would've found maybe more specific help for yours (which I take is Lei). Probably not write anything like that again that's for sure.

Thanks for the link, KiWe. I was looking through your Brad oki thread as a matter of fact, since I was hoping it had some of the info I was looking for. People may be working on something similar to your post - that's a lot of info you had there, and many people stick to a narrow selection of okizeme choices, since okizeme timing seems to be murderous. Don't give up hope yet. I'd make my own post on Lei Fei okizeme, but it would look something like :
ff+[P] : Use this for in place recovery. Even I can land this sometimes.
[K]+[G]: This never lands, but I keep hoping it will, so I keep trying it, but you shouldn't.
b+[P][P]: This never lands either, so don't do this either, but it would make a nice christmas present.
ff+[K]+[G]: Well, they can't evade this, but there's much more ugliness they CAN do to you, so don't do this either.

Hopefully I'm tired enough to sleep now. Thanks again, KiWe.

    Leifei Okizeme:
[6][6][K]+[G]: crushes wake up attacks fairly consistently, still requires timing, catches evaders at wake up, leaves in tiger for sabaki

[6][6][K]: far trickier timing, if u crush wake up with it, it's a stagger however, doesn't have the tiger stance vulnerabilities

my 2 favorite options, also [9][K]+[G] works but it has extraordinarily strict timing so I wouldn't recommend without practice /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
