    Hey Norcal groups!!
I'm wondering which internet service you guys are using right now?

I saw Comcast can provide a good deal but it seems to block P2P. I usually download by utorrent and play XBL, so I need some advice to chose a good internet company!!

If there is any fiber optics cable that will be awesome too!!

    i have at&t. i pay $35 a month for 6mbps downstream.

comcast sucks. i had them for awhile but they'd throttle my downstream on torrents.

    Hey quash~
You pay only $35 per month for 6MB download? Fuck!! I pay almost $60 in my town here!!! What is the upload speed you have??

So does comcast really block on torrent?? My girlfriend is using comcast now and she has 15M/5M. It's a good deal only costs $29 including TV cable. But she can't have any download activity on torrent which means a lot of trouble for us....

upstream i believe is around the 1mb area.

yeah, comcast rapes torrents hard. they use sandvine and they'll usually throttle your speed on the ports torrents use.

I think I'm using the same deal with you right now, $35 for one month but the thing is that I also need to pay for the phone bill together which is total $60!!

Do I have any other choice in SF? Only comcast or AT&T??

i'm not sure since i don't live in sf, though i'd imagine you could find a handful of smaller isp's.

and seriously, especially around here, it's better to just use a cellphone for your long distance. if you don't get a plan for your home phone, you won't be able to call long distance, but you pay at most like $15 a month.
