One more VF player moves on...?

    My article: http://www.versuscity.net/2009/08/11/the-shiozawa-cup-this-thursday/

Long story short, there's a big 5 on 5 SF4 tournament happening before SBO this week. There is actually a team registered that is almost all VF players from what I can tell. Fuudo and Itazan have been playing SF4 since the beginning... but now... Koedo is playing SF4. [IMG]

I don't think he'll completely abandon VF but it's pretty telling about the VF scene in Japan that he's playing SF4 rather than play/practice VF before the biggest tournament of the year.

I think Ogi mentioned he's been playing SF4 for quite some time now along with Fuudo and Itazan.

He still hasn't qualified for SBO yet either?
I know in previous years that there is a last chance qualifier on the day. So he still has chances I guess

I guess after SBO maybe less people will play VF.

    It's all Sega's fault.

I wonder if Sega's even proud of their own decisions.

Here's another one to add to the ever-growing list of "great moves" by Sega.

Some of you may know that featured "star players" in VF5R now have a Sega endorsed blog, which is advertised at the bottom of their event blog page: http://blog.virtuafighter.jp/

The monumentally stupid thing (IMO) is that Sega have apparently partnered with Ameba to host the star player blogs. While Ameba do host blogs, they also host videos but their video support sucks. Videos are squashed into a 4:3 aspect, the sound quality is poor and muffled, and the video quality is probably the poorest out there. Way to go [IMG]

Great match. Just try not to go cross-eyed while watching it.

Koedo was extremely lucky to have won that match. In the fifth round Fuudo clearly meant to do [k], which would've won the match, instead of standing [k].

I think you are hyping things up a bit too much here because their team for the 5v5 is named "Virtua Fighter Highest Motivation". So I don't think they are really abandoning their VF roots. Itazan, SHOU, Ohnuki, Ryan Hart , there are tons of VF players that play other games competitively so I don't see it as them moving on by playing a SF or a Tekken or whatever.

I don't think anyone's hyping things up a bit too much.

I think Reno was just sayin'

It's going with the running theme of how Sega screwed us over, imo

The VF team just placed second in the 5v5 event so obviously they are no slouches in SFIV.

Imagine if SFIV players tried to transition to VF5R and win a team battle event.

Didn't "lets go Justin" aka Wong's team participate to this? If so, what happened to them?

Hehe, I don't see any Rufus players [IMG]
When I was on Revolution II (a fighting games tournament some time ago, in Poland), the sf4 champion was Rufus... and he won against Mat(maybe someone knows him) who used Sagat! Now that's what I call winning against the odds.

I second the request, keep us updated on any movies from the fights please, thank you. [IMG]

Reading that thread it's pretty crazy. AZ translated what one of the Japanese players posted, and it was mad trash talk.

Well put it this way; I made the move from VF3 to sf3. Sign of the times it seems.

Although, I do not see SF4 as something I would quit VF5R for. I mean I left a good game for another good game. IMO this is not the case.
