    2 main characters!
Samanosuke returns from the first game and Jean reno(!!!) is the other main character in this game!
Capcom mentioned that its for the PS2.

It had my interest until the french guy from The Professional shows up, and why France? At least the franchise is in better shape than Devil May Cry.

Instead of France, I wish it were in L.A. or even London.

And if it HAD to be in France, couldn't it be Laetitia Casta instead of that Leon fellow??

as far as onimusha 3, i'd play it regardless of where they set the story to take place, it looks quite good, only that it seems the have taken away the priveledge of trying to control the sotry, unlike in onmusha 2,other than that i think it'll be great

    Oniweasel lol /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Oh tight!!!

Takeshi Kaneshiro (from two of my favorite films: Chunking Express and Fallen Angels) as well as Jean Reno are both in this game (well, their voices and maybe their motion capture anyways).

Bringing Samonosuke back into the game is pretty cool. Weird bringing him into the present or future, but hey, it explains his "disappearance" from history--or at least might result from it. Jean Reno being in the game is weird, but I like Jean Reno /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In any case, I'm looking forward to it /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The game will have full 3d backgrounds instead of the pre-rendered ones of the previous 2 games. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hmmm it's certainly interesting though I doubt it'll match the first ones sense of foreboding nor the seconds RPG style elements. It still looks good though and I'll still buy it.

I wonder if these are the same thing on the Capcom promo DVD... the ones on the DVD are like 3 minutes each. Buraiden and Onimusha 3... neither are my cup of beer.

The game looks impressive as usual for the series, but I'm scheptical with this whole "time travel" business. It just seems too easy a story road to take, and, sadly, these time travel games usually bomb.

Onimusha 3 is actually much much better than I expected. It is easily the best action game of the year, more than Ninja Gaiden. The 'time travel' story gives it a cinematic feel, if you liked movies such as The Returner, you'll like onimusha 3's story alot. The gameplay is top notch and very challenging. The gfx and the cinemas in the game are ridiculously amazing. It's hard to believe it is a playstation 2 game. Even though Ninja Gaiden looks better and sharper, it's undeniable that Oni3 is still graphically impressive. The puzzles in the game are also a step above the usual stuff, it's quite varied. I would highly recommend this game if only for the intro movie, which is one of the most impressive CG work I've seen whether in films or games. Nothing even comes close.

Srider - From what you are saying I am guessing that the story of Onimusha has been vastly improved upon? How is it in terms of the feeling when playing Onimusha 1 & 2, which I loved.
And the action is that good? Better than Ninja Gaiden? I am thinking you are biased, but I will have to check it out for myself.

That intro is nice. Makes me happy that I played the first two. When he absorbs all of those souls and turns into a super Samanosuke, that was wild. Thanks for the links.

It looks pretty good but I hope using Guns is as fun as swords in the previous two, hopefully they won't cheapen any of them. I can't wait to get this along with Onimusha Blade Warriors

You don't really use a "Gun", it's not really the weapon that the french dude uses. I'll leave it up to you to see what new weapons you get to use in Onimusha 3.

I can see that I sound biased, maybe I am even... but I didn't start playing each game thinking that one was better than another. I just like onimusha 3 because it's more challenging. The story is much more modern action movie like... It's not so much samurai flick feeling. The 3rd game in the series feels much more like an action film with a little bit of fantasy and scifi mixed into it. Like the Returner as I've said before. The pace is a little faster than the previous games imo.

If you've finished O3, how does its length compare to the previous 2? My main gripe was that they were pretty short games...altho part2 had a bi tmore replay value.

and OMFG, that intro was soooo awesome!!! I got a boner just by watching it! Now wtf cant they make REAL movies like that??

The length is more or less the same as the previous ones. It's not a very long game.
