1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Alright guys, going out and playing online is very fun but as such we all need to stick together and remember the greater good! The community of course.

Things you can do to enjoy online play and help the overall VF community:

#1 Be nice and help people who need/ask for it

The one thing that attracted me to the VF community was the maturity and overall kindness of everyone here. You seriously can't get a greater group of individuals in my opinion.

#2 Advertise this site and other VF/Fighting game related sites

No joke, just tell them after the game they should check out VFDC. Seriously the more people get on this site the more likely they will see information, strats, events and join the community/

#3 Ask people where they are from, and if you find local people try to meet up with them

Now obviously I don't mean stalk people for their location but just ask nicely and casually where they are from and if they are near you give em an FR and try and meet up with them IRL. VF isn't meant to be played online even with a good connection, real life VF is the bomb.

#4 RELAX, play tough but don't lose your mind over online play

Every VF player deep down inside wants to play their hearts out and be at their best but unfortunately online play has it's problems though admittedly not as much as we thought. Lag, Disconnects, people cussing you out, etc. Don't let it get to you, just remember it's still online play and try to enjoy yourself more than anything.

    #5 GO to events!

Let's face it, there is usually a drift between how many will play competitively online and how many will do the traveling to play offline. NO ONE is requiring that you must go to every freakin offline event out there. But we really appreciate it and have a lot of respect for people who do show up to even one or two. If all you did was 1 major and EVO or a handful of local stuff and EVo then hey that's all we could ask for and must of us appreciate it. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Have lots of fun guys and lets make the VF community even better in this new XBL era! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

This is good shit, I would like to make a suggestion about players getting better and stuff. Why not hold tutorial sessions or start a tutorial session for players that want to get better. The netcode IS good enough that for this game it could work

#4 is one of the best points I think overall. So far i haven't run into any negative players online..but I haven't been playing as much online either. But its always good to remember its just a game and playing online is just for the fun of it.

The net coding in this game is better than I thought, after being disappointed with Tekken online and DOA4 online setup so i wasn't expecting it to be all that but Virtua Fighter has a good online setup so far. I kinda wish there was a Infinite time on round matches so you could get better pratice in.

I haven't encounter any thrash talkers at all. I meet alot of people willing to learn the game and added them to my list so I could show them the ropes on VF during player matches. Even during matches I tell them how to avoid Wolf(Wolf player) low grab and other setups people tend to use. Granted, I'm no VF pro like most people here, but I do know the basics and among other things. One thing I notice if the player has a head set, and is a lower ranking then you(or not a good winning record), they tend ask questions, and I tend to help them as much as I can.

Good job Dan. It's good you got this up soon, we both know what can happen if online play runs rampant.
