Options after a missed throw

Ok, I've been doing pretty well with Goh and Kage lately, and I'm starting to trully see what this game has to offer(VF4evo...no FT in sight here). Anyway, I still have much to learn. Let me start with one thing I've been wondering, that has been a problem. It's my options after a missed throw. There probably aren't many since I DID miss a throw, but is there a way to defend my self after whiffing a throw?

Here's an example: Me(Goh) vs my main comp(Shun). I manage to land a [4]+[P]+[K] and I juggle him. I follow that with [P], [P], [K] and watch if he'll recover or not. If he does, and recovers to the side I follow him with a [3]+[P]+[K]+[G] or if he just stands up-right I'll [4][1][2][3][6]+[P]+[K]+[G] him. If he happens to not recover, I'll go for the [2]+[P]+[K]+[G] while he is grounded.....

Anyway, back to my question....if I miss any of those throws, what options do I have so I won't get horribly countered? Any help would be great, and I hope my example was helpful and not confusing. Thanks alot in advance....

throws in those situations are very risky, any time your throw whiffs you're going to get punished, and there isn't much you can do about it.

Hmm....I see. ARe there any situations at all that a missed throw can be recovered from? Since I use Goh alot, I need to sue throws alot, so missing them is a real big deal for me. Thanks again.

I play Goh a lot, well, used play a lot since he let me down, anyway, there really aren't any throws in Goh's arsenal that can give you advantage even if blocked, so like Vanity said, you will just have to pay the piper and try not to have your throws blocked.

Treat it like any other disadvantaged situation and employ whatever defensive technique you're either comfortable with or think will be required.

The most common reaction I've seen to a missed throw is to throw back, but if you're entering throw escapes then there's a good chance you'll escape. Couple this with either an evade at the beginning (to dodge any non-guaranteed attack) and a guard at the end (to block any delayed/followup attacks) and you'll find your chances of surviving a missed throw increase dramatically.

p.s. in future, please title your post a little more appropriately. "Options after.." doesn't convey any information where as "Options after a missed throw" says it all. It also helps out people searching when they're browsing through search results (i.e. thread titles).

Well, thanks for the help. And Myke, sorry about the title mess up. I was going to ask a few questions, so I put that as my title, but it turns out my other questions were answered. Thanks again.

I do DTEG really fast, or EDTEG. It's important to keep yourself from automatically doing EDTEG, though. Sometimes I just low P if I think they are going to wait for my evade.

If I do DTEG, I usually end up mashing low P afterwards if they don't do anything immediately. Because if they wait a moment and throw, it'll fall outside your TE window, but you won't have time to crouch. Plus doing DTEG, EDTEG is pretty gay.
