I just looked at a vid of it and it seems like it's just a slight down grade from Outrun 2: Coast to coast. Can anyone who has played this version give some insight on it? If it's not worth 800 points then I'd rather skip it. If it's just a watered down Outrun 2 then I can just play that since I already own it.

 

Aside from Jennifer looking like a man now and the lack of Magical Sound Shower Euro Remix (Risky Ride and Night Flight are still there though), it's all good.

And yes, it does remind you of a Sega of days gone by - those blue skies can only be done by Sega and NO-ONE ELSE.

Sega Marine Fishing is the only game that does sky bluer. I actually cry a little when I see Coral Reef and hear the dance remix theme.

 

Gonna buy it right now! Let me know if you guys want to do a 6 player online race. XD

That bug reminds me of Dreamcast port of Crazy Taxi 1 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

Damn that JUST happened to me 10 minutes ago, I was in 1st place though...

 

I bought it. I'm disappointed. The port is not well done. The ending for example is still in 4:3 and you recognize so many elements from Coast2Coast that were copied and pasted over into that XBLA port. 800 MS points may sound fine. But it's a fking waste, if you already own Outrun 2 or Coast2Coast.

 

And why the hell have they used the slipstream system from C2C ... Jide must have gone mad by now ...

 

That's all I needed to read... I'll skip this one! When I saw the trailer I was like " WTF... did they mix up the trailer footage? This looks just like Outrun2 / Coast2Coast???? " And yeah a lot of stuff definitely did seem like it was pasted / forced into the game. I was really looking forward to a very simple port with enhanced visuals. I'm pretty sure Outrun 2 runs on 360 via an XBL update. If I feel like running down memory lane I'll just play that and enjoy it's more cleaner visuals and frame rate.

No 800MS points for you Microsoft!

whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute... You guys though it was new tracks? this port is based on the ARCADE outrun 2 SP (what coast 2 coast was based on, so yeah, same tracks as that) using the arcade textures (unlike console from what i hear...) so it does look better (doesnt the fact that its now 720p helps?)

for 800ms pts, how can anyone complain, unless you just dont like outrun.

 

ok so you give me the 800ms pts and I'll buy it??? I won't complain then. If it's the same as Coast 2 Coast I can just play Coast 2 Coast since I already own it. Why pay for something I already own?
