How in the blue hell i can counter Akira Yuki players attacks cause ok if you play turtle is not good cause Akira have too many staggers so i need to swallow that ok... lets avoid some attacks im guessing they take Pai some Vf4 moves on ss i remember well pai have various options on ssteping anyway any ideas or any japan players with a high level Pai Chan that can give some Akira Yuki problems ? i need ideas lol

I keep at a mid range against them and do what pai does best. Poke. Akira is really effective at close range, so minimize that by keeping your spacing out of range of him. I use a lot of full circulars like 4[K][+][G]. It is fast and keeps them from using their moves to close the gap.

It all really depends on how the player plays Akira. If they move around a lot, use your throws,if they do a lot of mid elbows, reversal. If you do have to be in close range moves like 3[P][+][K] will help as a quick punish when you block some of his moves and create the spacing you need to continue to poke.

Trying mid range ? i do that vs Sarah Bryant players cause most of Sarah attacks counter Pai mids if my mind dont fail me ill try mid at some good Akira players but also Akira have some quick range attacks maybe those range quick attacks i can do sidesteps and try to punish with 9[K],[K] or mix up with 9[K] and throws but a'm stick with your strat for now avoid close range thanks buddy

Spacing out Akira isn't as easy you think since his elbows have so much reach that they can get you offguard if you think you are safe from them. Akira doesn't have a full circular move so if you read his foot position you can dodge all of his moves easily before he pulls them off beating out his half circular moves too. 9 [K] and 6 [P] for Pai should allow for safe distance attacks 6 [P] especially since it is very safe on block and has more reach than it seems to have if you happen to look at it. This might keep Akira offbalance enough to allow you to move in on him some without him reacting to you too quickly with those nasty attacks of his. He can reverse them potentially but mixing up the 6 [P] with your typical mixups and you should be fine

I know that when I play against akira, he has a bunch of mid attacks, so I usually sabaki with [1][P]+[K], that usually shuts down a lot of his punish moves, especially his elbows, and gets him on the defensive, and probably will make him shift to double palm attacks. Then I'll shift to sidestepping and punish those since they tend to leave him pretty open. Hope that helps?

Yeah that's right, I'm still learning all this VF terminology, sorry if I misuse some of it

I apply the same strategy. I try to bait their 66(6)[P] to reverse it. Akira doesn't have a lot of close range circular attacks either, so usually sidestepping helps quite a bit. Don't overdo it since they'll grab you for crazy damage. But honestly, Akira players play so differently that it's hard to say something that will work against Akira in general.

Some of the best akira i've runned through were trying to make my pai chan evade and retaliate with a fast move like 6P or 3K to evade MY moves =>

Akira pull a move with a little recovery
Pai evade and use 6P in reaction
Akira evade your move to punish you with a huge combo

This is one of the basics for this character because he don't have circular. So Akira players in general mix this tactic with grab/catch. BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU LL TRY TO EVADE.

Full circular are your friends along with strings with circular in it like 2KK, 2P+K K, ... And also throws especially with a crouch dash before.

You can change your tactics based on this fact when the akira player is using he's tracking move or semi circular strings of punch.

    Kill' em with a mid kick ! ! !

a strategy which I use is [4][6][P]+[K], then backdash and some other mix up. [4][6][P]+[K] pushes opponent away and quick [4][4] evades some moves such as Akiras [6][6][P]

After this u can perform [3][K][P] and sometimes only midkick -> throw. or [P][K][2] -> Bokutai -> Boku [P] -> Hakkeshou -> throw -> etc etc...
