Pai's panda!

Anyone know if this is a discrace item or an regular item i been looking for this for ages.

 

I think it is a disgrace item.

 

Most of the animals:

-squirells
-bunny
-pandas

Are disgrace items, like Kage's and Akira's Mr. Suirell and Mr. Rabbit, and (?) Akira's Small and Large Bears. My guess is that Pai's panda is tha same as these, it is a disgrace item.

Unfortunately the way to get these items is to, well....lost, sometimes alot. Or, fail to do certain techniques, like TR and QR, or take some excellent victories in row on your Pai....it sux, but I think that is what you have to do.

If you lose a couple matches, but still don't have the back panda, there are probably some specific conditions you must acheive in order to get the item.....but I can't help you much past there.


<edit> Whups, in regards to the post below, I confused the Panda (bears) for normal Bears, but the cosmetic effect is still the same.

 

Akiras small and large pandas???I knew he had small and large bears to go on his back ( same as in vf4 ) but I don't think they are disgrace items.

Akiras disgrace items from what I know are Mr Squirrell and Mr Bunny.I'm sure I've seen no Akira ais at all with pandas.Where did you see this?

 

I fixed the bear/panda issue, but if you think that Akira's Bears are not disgrace items, than maybe Pai's panda is NOT a disgrace item after all, in which case you would not have to throw away so many matches in order to get the item.

One thing to do, is duplicate your Evo file (you need 2 memory cards though), and start playing with Pai on your back up one. Lose matches until you get an item, if the item is the Panda, you can stop and save, but if you lose like 100 matches and you still don't have a panda, then you should just use the other memory file until someone can resolve your problem without you having to experiment so much with your character file.

 

yeah i tried losing but all i got was the stupid king tut mask.

 

Yes glad that was cleared up...his bears are NOT disgrace items.

If memory serves , to get Akiras disgrace items in vf4 one was through loosing a good few matches in a row ( maybe about 6 ) and one was to be repeatedly hit by evade attacks.

I suppose it would have been nice to "win" items off your opps on evo like you could in vf4 as opposed to waiting for item matches ( very rare for me ) , buying them from the shop ( even though there aren't THAT many )or completeing starred quests etc...Ah well they are only items after all...


btw I thought the king tut mask was for losing 2 excellents or something.
Thinking about the panda , it may be something totally random like to get Akiras blue shades in vf4 ( I think ) you had to equip his goggle glasses and do loads of throw escapes.I mean how on earth or you supposed to figure that out?

For the Panda head it gives me this:
"It carries out and is [ &#24677;&#12378; or ] an item. Acquisition 20 continuation or more and an attack are guarded and it loses.
It removes. 7 times or more (3 setup), an attack is guarded and it wins. "

no real idea what it means, though.. and the list seems to be for the arcade version.

 

it's not the head panda i want it's the back one.

 

Alrighty, perhaps someone could explain what this means then:
"It is shy the item
Acquisition 7 times or more (3 these setting), this body being done, it is defeated
Removing
Above R number, this body doing, it wins"

See, I thought it was about not doing TR's, but it doesn't seem to work. It also seems that Pai has to be above a certain rank in order to get these, since the new dummy pai I started couldn't get the Panda head (which you get by letting your opponent guard 20 attacks in a row).. maybe my Pai isn't high enough in the ranks, 'cos she's only 7th dan.. dunno.

 

Interasting. That King Tut mask is BADASS! Does anyone know how to get it with Pai?

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to get YOUR attack guarded 20 times in a row, and lose the match.


i even tried this in versus mode and got the panda head.
Still haven't got a clue as to how to get the back panda, I've tried all the usual stuff, like getting evade attacks guarded, not techrolling, opponent escaping your throws, losing by ring out, getting hit by evade attacks, getting floated.. i've tried all this with the Panda head on and without it. I give up, probably the only things i haven't tried are (not) recovering from beatdown attacks and getting reversed.. and quite frankly i don't feel like trying anymore..
