I haven't had a single issue with paypal. I see no reason to flip out because a few people here and therehad unfortunate experiences with them. Now Ticketmaster is something to bitch about.

 

a few people. I know three people and one organization that had legitimate transactions (one was relief donations for Hurricane Katrina) held by paypal. As in, "this money of yours? it's ours because we think something hinky is going on. feel free to read our TOS which allows for no user recourse. enjoy your day shit heel".

That's four instances that aren't a friend of a friend but one, genuine degree of separation and the stories you can find are unfortunately common. Paypal is shit.

 

Was that SomethingAwful that did that? I remember that they managed to raise something like $20,000 in about 2-3 days as a relief fund, and then PayPal froze the account and refused to return the money.

I do use PayPal because it's easier and more widely accepted than other online money transfer sites, but it really doesn't make them look good when they pull stunts like that.

Reminds of the time when I was having a hard time with PayPal when I was trying to pay for my dad's books for his class. At least things work out in the end.[/size]
