We should have an organized gathering or tourney at the IMAX theatre imagine playing VF4 on a giant 2 to 3x a movie screen WITH like 400+ seats. Awesome, this would be worth flying to San Jose.

Uhm, I just read the rules for VF4 for this event, and any people that were thinking about attending may want to reconsider:

"15 seconds to choose character, stick with same character, players play for 10 minutes and the most rounds won by either player wins and advances. No pausing allowed/for any game. If their is a tie the person with the most energy at the time of exactly 10 minutes, wins."

    Bleh.

nothing wrong with that. You get credits for the rounds you win, and as for choosing and sticking with a character, that's a nobrainer.

The rounds thing is pretty weak. If you play three matches, win two matches 3-2 and lose one match 0-3 you would lose. Though unlikely something like this could happen if an odd number of matches are played.

Eh, if the tournament were based on games-won, someone would have an easy time arguing that it's weak that a guy in your scenario wins despite having lost more rounds... Well, no matter, it's rare like you said. I like systems where you get credit for rounds won, but I guess the tournament would be pretty dull if a guy came into the final game +4 rounds over the other guy. There'd be no point in playing that last game, and worse, one could imagine those +4 rounds arriving through some luck like beating up a scrub or getting one victory vs. a forfeit or bye.

If any one of the better players on this board dropped into this tournament, they'd take home the kitty handily.

good luck to you guys who do join it, even though i'm in Cali, i don't think i'll bother with it.

since it's on the PS2, this makes me wonder if it'll turn out like the tourney Shadowdean competed in.

will you have to use the default PS2 gamepad?

ugh, imagine the fact that you'd have to shell out 50 extra bucks to play good(joystick).
