Hey has anyone seen or heard about this?

Id really like to get that instead of a no-solder mod chip or a solder one, but I'm just not sure if it would ruin your PS2 door's motor or what? Does anyone know?

The slide card is just a knife swap, only you use a card instead of a knife. On the page I learned the knife swap from, they recommend you take any dead credit-card type card and cut a little hook into it so you can use it to grab the plastic bit that controls your CD tray in the PS2. Looks like someone took that a step further and decided to make money from it.

Otherwise you use the knife to grab it, which is tedious. A card can be hooked on there and left connected to the plastic bit... while the knife has to be inserted and removed every time you boot up your game.

My advice... If you have a gameshark, you can do a knife swap without spending any more money, and can probably find a suitable dead card in your wallet to make your own slide card.

If you don't have the PS2 gameshark, then the 40 dollars is a worthy buy because you're getting the swap disk, which does the job of a 40 dollar gameshark but is probably less hassle.

Just keep in mind that Gameshark swapping does not work with later versions of the PS2

If by "later" you mean "latest" yes, you are correct. I have a V1 PS2 and the knife swap works fine.
