1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Playstation to USB Converters

I have a custom stick made with a Playstation non-analog controller. I was wondering if there was any luck in finding a converter that works.

From what I've been able to find out, the elecoms that work for Tekken DR do not work for VF5, but supposedly there is another model of elecoms out there that do work. Also the elecoms that no longer work still work if you are using a dual shock controller but you have to turn on the analog mode. I've read reports that this is how most other converters work on the PS3. Has anyone tried other brand converters on VF5? Specifically the Radio Shack ones. If it works with dual shock controllers with analog turned on, I would be willing to swap in a dual shock in my joystick.

I would buy the joysticks made specifically for the PS3 but since I've played on US style sticks for so long, I could never get used to the ball style sticks. Another thing is since I already have a joystick that I made myself and I'm very happy with, it would be such a shame if I am unable to use it on the PS3. I might even be desperate enough to just throw in a Sixaxis controller into the joystick if there is no other way. It would be nice to have a wireless joystick, but there have been times when I've noticed the controller gets stuck on one command during gameplay. That could be disasterous in VF.

Only thing I know is you need an analog mode on the stick for it to work. I have an old PS2 to USB device called a Kiwi Joy, I am currently using it for my old Interact Shadow Blade stick on the PS3, it works fine but it also has an analog mode.

I have never seen a mod for an six axis arcade stick, do you have a link for that? I would be interested in reading it. Maybe you could throw a DualShock2 inside your stick.

Nyko is releasing an adapter soon that looks like it will actually work with everything. Keep checking gamestop.com or stores like that for a Nyko adapter.

I haven't actually seen anyone do it yet, but it shouldn't be that much different from a dual shock. I was able to find a picture of the contacts though.

Hmm...that would be great. I couldn't find a release date for it though. Guess just have to be patient.

The Nyko adapter has been pushed back about 3 times now. This is good and bad news lol. Good in that they seem to be making sure it's gona work for all PS2 controllers. Bad in that we have no idea when we'll get it now /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

When you plug the sixaxis controller into the usb port of the ps3, does it still use the wireless when you are using it or does it use the usb cable itself? If you are worried that the wireless controller don't register right sometimes, wouldn't plugging it in solve that?

There's a logitec controller for the ps3 also that is not wireless, maybe you can put that in your joystick. Where are instructions to do this...I'd like to read about it. If I can find the parts to make one myself.

As far as I know, with the USB cable hooked up it does it all through the cable, so that would solve the problem but kinda defeats the purpose of making a it wireless.

I haven't found any specific instuctions for the ps3 but it should be the same as any gamepad to joystick hack. Just use the picture of the contacts I posted so you know where to solder on the sixaxis. Here's a link to catch22's website detailing his work on joysticks: The Joystick Builder

And here's a thread on it here at VFDC: Joystick Builder updated with TONS of info.
