ok before i begin lemme say that YES I DID DO A SEARCH BEFORE POSTING THIS, and most of the results were people flaming other people for not searching (how ironic) or posts that were just ignored.

Now, i'm talking about the English version of V4Evo (on the PS2). According to the game, it says..

"Evade 5 times with an evading throw escape, with at least 3 successful throw escapes!"

I translate this as, do 5 evading throw escapes and three of them actually have to escape throws.

According to the Quest FAQ, it says you have to do 5 triple-throw escapes (and none of them have to actually escape a throw).

Is this correct? At first i didn't think so but i have spent what seems like hours and hours doing evading-throw escapes (as many as i can in gameplay, which i apparently isn't enough) with zero success.

    So, two questions:

    1. Am i interpreting this all wrong? If not why is the game's quest order worded erroneously?

    2. If my opponent does not have a throw that uses one of the throw escape commands i input during my triple throw escape, does it still count as a triple throw escape?

Note: I know how to do throw escapes, and can do them (to an extent), so don't flame me and then give me a bunch of useless information.

    thank you

    ok nevermind

The game is just straight up wrong. I completed the Quest by doing 5 evading triple throw escapes (like the FAQ said) and apparently it doesn't matter what throws your opponent has in his/her arsenal.

    So..

Here's a tip for PS2 players who are having trouble doing multiple throw escapes using characters who don't have a [P]+[K]+[G] action (meaning your char does a regular punch instead of a different move).

Hold the controller in your left hand (where it usually goes) but put your right index and middle fingers over the L1 and L2 buttons (respectively, duh). This puts your fingers in a better position to rapidly press other throw escape commands.

ok, so you can hit L2 ([P]+[K]+[G]) and, again assuming your char doesn't have a move that corresponds to that command, you should do a punch, which, if you don't follow up on, will often draw an attack from your opponent (giving you something evade throw escape).

So you hit [2_] (or [8_], but [2_] better corresponds with throw escapes) to do the evade and now can use your left thumb and right index finger to input your multiple throw escapes.

I don't use this in actual gameplay (except on these pain-in-the-ass throw escape quests) but it works, and is the ONLY way i can do quadruple throw escapes (and makes triple throw escapes hella-easier).

sorry if this has been posted a hundred times (i didn't do a search on this one). Good luck

Neither the game, nor the FAQ is wrong.

When it refers to "3 successful throw escapes" it means just that - you need to enter (any) three successful (or valid) throw escape inputs. This does not mean you must escape three throws successfully.

So, I think your interpretation was incorrect. Glad you finally worked it out in the end.

ah thx... it's poor english. i've that interpreted as 3 seperate successful single evade throw escapes as well, and have also been confused as hell. triple throw escapes? egads, i can't do one of those to save my bootay. i'll give unorthodox pad techniques a try. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah the quest is poorly translated. You need to do five evading triple throw escapes. After you provoke a linear attack (I usually just sidekick the AI, they almost always counterattack since its out of throw range), tap [8] or [2] and do not wait until your character evades. Immediately start pounding in throw escapes. It seems obvious, but I say this because my friend was having trouble doing triple throw escapes and it was because he was waiting to see if his evade was successful. I find a slick motion if you can't press directions fast enough is to press [2],[2]+[P]+[G],[P]+[G],[6]+[P]+[G] as fast as you can as you evade. It has a nice rythm.

to me it's much easier to do a [P] (blocked) then [8] (evade) TripleThrowEscape [6][P]+[G] [2][P]+[G] [P]+[G]. the quest itsef, if you still dont understand, means you have to do an evade triple throw escape, 5 times. good luck

  7. I always found it easier just to slide your thumb while you press for the throw escape. So it would be like this; [G]+[P][2][G]+[P][3][6][G]+[P]. Just do it smoothly after you evade at it almost always gives it to you.
