    Maybe I am not stating it explicitly enough: Believe it or not, I am looking at the ACORN issue, or trying to look at it, from a non-partisan point-of-view.

    Are the Republicans innocent of any wrongdoings? Heck no. But what does that have to do with dozen of states investigating ACORN, when specifically, it is people within ACORN itself admitting there are issues in the supposedly non-partisan organization?

    Is voter fraud real? Yes, if it is not real, then it is pretty stupid to have laws punishing people for doing it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif .

    Is it widespread enough to worry about? Except maybe in a few states and local elections, no. Do we need to have it occur at a grand scale before we should do anything about it? Or you just want to wait for a 9/11 event and then have a committee spend several years trying to figure out--could it have been prevented?

    Just so that we are on the same page: I do believe
    1) Republicans are pressing the issue in there favor
    2) There are Democrats who believe there are problems with the organization.
    3) As much good ACORN do in assisting people to register to vote, there are issues with the organization that need to be resolved from within or by the FBI / states investigating them.

    Voter fraud on a grand scale isn't going to be committed by one activist group (notice I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that it hasn't already happened). It's going to be committed by political parties (plural), judges, and corporations that manufacture insecure voting systems.

    Is it a stupid law to punish people for illegal voting practices? (Funny websites, btw, though some of the laws listed are not that stupid!)

    I agree, it takes more than just one activist group to make it a serious problem in the United States. Lets assume ACORN is judged by the law to be guilty for wrongful actions. Even if it was minor and does not affect the election one bit, should there be no discipline?

    As for the comment that it has not already happened at the grand scale, do you mind elaborating (just out of curiosity)?

    I have a bad feeling what's going to happen to Obama when he gets in. Security better be tight.

    I believe he rubs a lot of the people in Washington the wrong way and now with all this hate it is very easy for them to do something and blame a racist nut for doing the job

    I agree with you brian. I HOPE nothing happens to Obama but if he seriously does what he says hes going to, its gonna make alot of wealthy government peeps upset.
