    Hi VFDC folks,

I'm a relatively new poster but a long time lurker here and have decided to "out" myself. I currently work at SEGA and worked on VF5 360.

SEGA posted an online poll and I'd like to invite everyone here to respond.

    you work for sega?

then bring online to the ps3 pronto and add cross platform play so xboxer's can play playstationers.

anyhow, i didn't have problems with people disconnecting.

I put up a reply there. Syzygy, are you going to post a link to the poll in the XBOX and shoryuken forums?

360 and PSN cross-platform play would be awesome but Sony and Microsoft's systems don't talk to one another.

Also, regarding the PS3, unfortunately the "hooks" to enable an online update were not built into the title. It was such an early PS3 title that the specs for doing that were not yet established.

I'd rather not post in the XBOX forums and I don't (yet) have an account at Shoryuken, I'm just lurking there. You're welcome to post links!

I posted this on the sega boards as well...

I think filtering online opponents by connection in "create match" for online ranking and online player matches might be a good option as well. Numerous times people with poor connections joined my game and it was completely unplayable. In a ranking battle, I can see this as a big turnoff for people hosting matches. Does anyone agree?

If you've been lurking then you should know about the huge outrage at the DLC you guys have provided, where we are getting slowly nickel and dimed for items already on the disk that aren't worth the money. Because of this, I didn't buy the second pack. Many have stated that even if we were able to get an entire "Ver. C" pack of outfits from the arcade for 1200 pts, people would pay. Why not give is newer, good items that aren't already sitting on the disk? (BTW, I did register and I will vote, because I have seen people quit near the end to stop a win). I think it should be ok if someone quits in the first round (could be they see lag and want to get out of it), but after that, it should count as a loss. People can cheat their way past a Master rank that way if they just quit on a 10th dan before they lose.

Edit: also, if you are serious, you can get all the info you need about what we think of the cable pullers here: http://virtuafighter.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/174101/gonew/1#UNREAD

I tell you what, if you guys put together some questions for me over the next few days, I'll put together some answers. No promises I can answer everything, and it may take me some time as I'll need to make sure and get buy-off from the stakeholders here.

To be completely honest, disconnecting really isn't a huge issue to me, because I'm pretty picky who I play against anyways. I enjoy playing the people from the VFDC and SRK community, and I don't expect anyone from there to disconnect on someone.

The thing I'm most interested in is whether or not future versions of the game and game items will be implemented through downloads. Also as dubc stated, many of us want the real items, not just color palette rehashes of stuff already in the game.

Hey Myke, if you are out there Myke, we need this thread front paged or something. More people need to know what is going on here. It is not easily determinable by the thread title.

There should be a rank and win ratio penality for pulling out.
In the other hand, there is almost no problems comparing to DOA4.

BTW: Take the ring selection in ranked match out, please.

Guess I'll get one of the questions out of the way.

Most people were very disappointed with the DLCs presented so far due to it being obvious content keys for items that were already on the disc, then there is the fact that the 360 port of VF5 is indeed Version C but it only has late Version B items available.

Question:When will some of the Version C items and features(currently available in the Arcade release) make it into the 360 version?

Here are some pics of the new Version C feature with mixing costume pieces together.

    Example:Costume C's shirt with Costume D's pants.

Along with that I'm pretty sure theres an option to scroll through Costumes A,B,C and D in the character selection screen instead of sticking to only two costumes at a time.

There is also a feature that was available from the Arcade version since the beginning. It's being able to splice your own small intro for your characters card.It has been expanded since version C with new animations and backdrops for more unique combinations.

Pictures of the various backdrops and animations you can use.

I agree with all that's said about, Sega is really takin the piss with the VerC items.

And the online needs a serious fix.

I could understand how sega might have thought western players might not complain about items since they really don't have any arcade version to compare it to but what about the japanese players who have collected most the xbox items in the arcade almost a year ago. I'd be pretty let down if I lived over there and played all the way through quest just to get old stuff.

It could be that SOJ/SOA are making sure that the "legitimate" ver. C stuff doesn't start trickling in until the Japanese market and demand for the 360 version of the game begin to take off. Once this happens, then the DLC may pack a bit more substance. OR it could be that because Japan has entered the Xbox domain that SEGA is intentionally releasing crappy DLC to bolster arcade play.

OR I could be totally off...

My main question is will we ever get the costume mixing for the 360? I want this feature above all else, I'd even sacrifice new DLC items for this feature!

I don't really care about bunny ears for sarah, or whether xxF4gg0tY3ll3Rxx can disconnect from my session. The first doesn't affect my understanding of the game, and the second is avoidable by playing with people that I know don't suck.

Why is there no move record / playback mode in the dojo, and what will it take to get sega to add it?

I don't have an issue with cable pullers, in about 300 games I've had 3 discos... I could care less if they were intentional or not.

What I'd like is a filtering process, where I can tell it to only find me people with a specific ping range.

Also it would be great if you can do an arcade setup, where winner stays at the machine and you have challengers .. who can also watch the fight as its happening. I don't know if you can actually do that with just a patch or if that type of thing has to wait until a new version of the game is out.
