    <font color="orange">PS2 EVO CURSE ITEM FAQ</font>

    This FAQ was originally translated by my friend Kim with some edits from myself.

    In general, there are two curse items per character. The method for getting and removing each items is explained in this FAQ. When you get a curse item, it can only be removed using the specified method. And once you remove a curse item, it becomes part of your item collection which you can then freely equip at any time.

    Some methods are dependent on the number of rounds set for each match. For example:

    get reversed 5 times for 2 match rounds, 7 times for 3 match rounds, 9 times for 4 match rounds, more than 11 times for 5 match rounds, and lose the match.

    this means, if you are playing a match with a 2 rounds setting, then you need to get reversed 5 times during the course of the match. It doesn't matter which round it occurs in, or if it occurs over a few/all rounds of the match. So long as you meet the criteria (5 times) by the end of the match, and also lose, then you will acquire the curse item.

    Risu-san (squirrel)
    get: above 2 dan, eat dodge attacks 4 times in a row and lose the match.
    remove: hit opponent with dodge attack more than (match rounds) times in a row and win the match. e.g. for a 3 round match, do 3+1=4 times.

    Usagi-san (rabbit)
    get: get reversed 5 times for 2 match rounds, 7 times for 3 match rounds, 9 times for 4 match rounds, more than 11 times for 5 match rounds, and lose the match.
    remove: reverse your opponent more than (match rounds) times and win the match.

    Panda back-pack
    get: get reversed 5 times for 2 match rounds, 7 times for 3 match rounds, 9 times for 4 match rounds, more than 11 times for 5 match rounds, and lose the match.

    get: have your attack blocked more than 20 times in a row and lose the match.
    remove: block your opponent's attack more than (match rounds x 2) times and win the match.

    Common Curse Item:

    Gold Mask

    Get- above 4 dan(both yourself and opponent) lost every round in excellent.

    Rid off- above 4 dan had at least 1 excellent win during the match and win the match.

    But I found by myself with a japanese dictionary.
    It means... it difficult to explain.
    for example:

    In any case, if you look under the VF4 section of this site, you'll find a couple of documents which explain what Sabaki attacks are, their properties, etc.

    I got it , my item % is up
    but I win one round excellent, it is af, but is also gone for all, but my % is the same.

    Great FAQ!
    A few things about the King Tut head...
    You have listed "above fourth dan" but I actually picked up while I was 4th dan, not the 5th.
    This is the first cursed Item I picked up, and you mention that you get to keep them if you fulfill the curse removal, but the Tut head isn't listed in my Inventory. I guess you don't get to keep that one eh?

    That's a typo then, it should read 4th dan and above. I'll correct it now. I've never bothered with the King Tut mask, but from both your accounts it sounds like it's not an Item you can keep. Why would you want to anyway? /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

    i used the gameshark code to unlock all the items, and for what it's worth, the king tut mask remains in my inventory...

    used to use robolau (iron greaves and king tut mask and metallic shoulder pads)... but now he's iron chef chinese chen keni... er... lau chan! (complete with chef hat, chef's knife, and wok)

    Ok, I got the baby hair for Lei Fei. It says to remove it, reverse your opponent the same amount of times as their are rounds and win the match. I fought against Jeffrey for three rounds and won each of them, and must have reversed his attacks at least eight times. It didn't work.

    chose VS mode, and pick up 2 Lei, of course , one of your own Lei and other 2p Lei. Now, you use [8][P]+[K]+[G], and use 2p controller and use [P] more than match round(not same round), and win the macht.

    I'm having trouble getting Sarah's makeup set. I know about sabaki moves, and I know that Sarah only has two ([P]+[K] for most moves, and [P]+[K] from flamingo for low punch only). I've done entire matches of just being sabaki'd by the Flamingo [P]+[K], and then won the match like said, but still no make-up set. Am I unknowingly doing something wrong or what? Should I use a different character (the timing on Sarah's regular [P]+[K] is too annoying to pull off with two controllers by yourself)?
