I wonder if there will be any difference really between the USA and Japanese versions if they're being released so close togther. I hope they have adequate english for the menus and training modes in both versions. I'll probably spring for the Japanese game the moment it comes out.

Ahh, cool. I think I'll be getting a couple of those. Last version of HRAP had easy-to-change buttons and sticks, yes? Easy meaning "buttons not soldered to a circuit board."

Wondering how Character data will be moved around between players.

4 was great but loading took a while. Evo sucked because I could never bring my card and just plug in and play with my saved costumes and records.

Anyone know how this would be handled on VF5 PS3?

Sadly my guess is the character data will work just like it functioned on Evo. I think so because the Ps3 will save load data onto the Hard drive itself rather then using standard memory cards. So this time around theirs a valid excuse onto why it may not be like VF4 version C

There will be an option to install part of VF5 on the HD so that loading will be fast according to a previous article I read. So that's at least one good news.

There is supposed to be some sort of Vf Net functionality.

What if u can download other players character data into your hard drive?

    but this probably wishful thinking.

Will we be able to have custom soundtracks for stages (and maybe menus too)?

Hopefully. Not that there's anything wrong with VF5's music, but having my own would rock and freshen things up every once in a while.

Don't rush to a conclusion so fast. Let's be a little more optimistic and wait and see what happens.

Whom would I write to regarding requests to make VF5 support 1080i for those of us who have older HDTVs? I'd hate to have to play in 480p if I don't have to.

Would anyone like to post a link to a converter or some shit that will let me play my modified Akira VF 4 stick with Sanwa buttons on the PS3?

And Story Mode scares me. The pre-fight intros freak me out already b/c they are so corny. Imagine two minutes of that.

If you are using a PS2 stick then this might help out. I wish there was more information though.

    Thanks GE.

I may order one of those. Has anyone heard anything about when Sony will be out of the weeds with their production issues? I really need a PS3 by Feb. 20.

Apparently, the issues have already been fixed. Sony had recently (1 week ago?) stated that their goal for the end of 2006 is to ship 2 million units and their goal for March (European launch) is 6 million.

While I doubt they can reach 2 million in 10 days, I think they can hit their mark of 6 million by March.

PS3's are becoming more readily available, although they still get sold out pretty much a few hour or so.

SonyStyle.com recently had both 60 and 20 gigs in stock, should check there now and then if you don't want to go hunting around in stores.
