Pure VF Trivia (don't bother if you're awake).

This is just to see where I stand but with regards to the generic ub+K motions of a few characters in Virtua Fighter how do you describe the technique?

Kage-Maru/Jacky/Sarah Bryant = Kickflip: Kick with such force that you flip.

Kage-Maru/Lau/Pai Chan = Flipkick: Flipping backwards and extending your leg as you do so.

Is it a Tomayto/Tomato thing or is my description justifed?

Kickflip: You fly up into the sky.

Flipkick: You don't.

 

Uh, that's the way I describe them too... yikes!
Flipkick is when you put your hands on the ground--only 1 foot hits.
Kickflip is when you stay airborne and land back on your feet--both feet will hit.
Doesn't make a difference... everyone knows what you mean either way.

 

I cannot remember who told this to me..but his explanations were

a)kickflip= the kick will connect before ur character starts to go airborne...thus the term kickflip
b)flipkick=ur character will actually flip first, then the kick will connect opponent...thus flipkick.

I used to type kickflip as flipkick...tons of people will tell me..'Jacky has no flipkick etc etc etc'

God, the confusions back then hehe.
But I think everyone pretty much know the distinctions between these two moves anyway.

Edit 2: Now that I have collected myself and I, I think, am on the level with what you're saying, I'll try to speak up for myself in this question.

As far as I know, Jacky's/Kage/Sarah's flipkick or kickflip (whatever =D) go by many names, some of them being somerassault or cartwheel kick. I've come to the conclusion that it's pretty much down to each and every one what you prefer to call them. However, as pointed out in this thread, I seem to have been mistaken.

If noone agrees with my description, I'll be happy to change my VF name. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif
