Alright, I'm going to the parking lot at my work at 10 est tonight (45 mins) and am fighting one of my brothers friends.

Tale of the tape:

Him: 6'2, 180 pounds, black belt in TKD

Me: 6'0 160 pounds, internet warrior. (All of my knowledge comes from drilling stuff off the internet).

Alright, so yeah, my brother says the guy plans on "kicking me in the face", and the fight is going to be over - and is confident it won't go to the ground. I know I'm just going to throw a few push kicks, then shoot in for the clinch, and try to get a takedown by either osoto or uchimata. I know I have strong ground work and when i wrestled my friend (5'11, 185 pounds, black belt in karate) i was able to uchimata him and get sidemount - then kimuraed him for the tapout.

I'm confident in my triangle choke and armbars, and don't know how this thing is going to go. I figure if i get clocked, we'll stop immediately, and if he mounts me and i'm not holding on to him tight - we'll stop it. I know i'm going to be pretty comfortable if i have to put him in my guard, and think i'll be able to win if it comes down to that.

okay, first I was tempted to "quote" that whole thing as that would have made me laugh and laugh but I think sometimes only I "get me" so we'll let that pass.

alright, well, it didn't exactly go as expected. it was established pretty early that i wasn't there to get hurt - and most guys there were pretty pissed off that we weren't going to have an actual "fight". so we just go out on the pavement. i fake a few kicks as planned, i shoot in - he kicks, i grab right leg, and attempt to sweep his planted leg.

I sweep him, he holds on and pulls me to the ground and gets me in rear mount, i turn myself over, and he pulls the tightest guard ever. Sinks in a weak guillotine and throws a few weak punches to my side, and the other guys come in and stop it.

All in all, he was holding back - I really had no intentions of fighting - he probably could have kicked my ass if he wanted to - but all in all a good experience.

Afterwards however he kept saying that if he wanted to he could have hit me with a high sidekick or some fancy kick - which I call bullshit on since the ground was so damn wet.

And... these people have no ethics either. I'm like, alright if we're going to fight we need a few rules, and everyone there "RULES?!?!!?!". I ask for no groin strikes and they're all like "WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS A STREET FIGHT THERE ARE NO FUCKING RULES". I attempt to explain my only reason for being there was to show that I could fight (which... didn't work out so well), not to get hurt or for anyone to get hurt for that matter.

Would I do it again... probably - just not with the same crowd. The obvious consensus was that I would have gotten my ass kicked.

Oh, and he seemed to have pretty decent knowledge of the ground - except for the fact that his rear mount was really shitty.


EDIT: Oh but the worst part of all, I come home to find out my brother is gone and has locked me out, I wait around half an hour for him to come home, say fuck it then just knock on my door and get my mom out of bed. Make up some shitty excuse as to why i was out, but she doesn't care - she's too worried about my brother. He comes home, she calms down and goes to sleep.
