Oh my oh my, I feel silly now /versus/images/icons/blush.gif
I do not understand a thing of those mulitple throw escapes! Please help me out! /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

In trial exercise 13b "Using multiple throw escapes" something is explained about predicting an opponent throw and enter a command in the window.
Okay, I see the smal window and bigger window.
Then he throws me and during the throw I enter a random command ( either [2][P]+[G] , [6][P]+[G] or just [P]+[G] )
My command appears after his throw in the smaller upper window.
Then he throws me again and the command in the upper window changes. Probably it tells me what escape command was needed for the trow just performed?
Sometimes I escape and in the lower window the command appears with an open red circle in front.
One throw later it disappears again /versus/images/icons/confused.gif
I can go on, but I am sure YOU know that I am lost completly and I ask you pollitely to help me out when you finish with rolling on the floor laughing your *ss of /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

If you enter an incorrect command (like [3][P]+[G]) the red circle is displayed. If you get thrown, the command for the throw performed on you is displayed. The best way to complete that exercise is to do a triple throw escape with [6][P]+[G], [2][P]+[G], and [P]+[G] during the recovery of your guaranteed throw move, or you can keep it simple by doing two. Once you learn how to triple throw escape consistently, you can pass that exercise very quickly.

Still don't get why to use that window /versus/images/icons/frown.gif
When I try to do what you say, I see (for instance) [P]+[G] in the upper window and [2][P]+[G] in the window below.
But what do I with that? What happens next?
You say I must enter the commands during the recovery of my guaranteed throw move ([6][P][P] in my case) but how do you mean? On the moment I do this move he throws me. Is that what you mean?

All the window does is tell you which throw was performed on you. Which character are you using? The game tells you what move to perform at the beginning of that exercise. Just perform that move and then do a double or triple throw escape almost immediately afterwards. Remember, he will only attempt [6][P]+[G], [2][P]+[G], or [P]+[G].

I use Aoi: she seems to be a good thrower, that's what I've seen in kumites... so I expect she can escape throwing as well...
At the beginning of the exercise the game tells me my opponent will choose between three throws; those you mentioned. So the first time I have to guess... I guess /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
But please can you tell me exactly what moment I have to enter the moves? Because in the lower window there never appears more than one command.
It also says my timing is off.....
Something else.. sometimes I manage to escape from the throw, she steps back but I still get no score for it... /versus/images/icons/confused.gif

Thought about it and I think my problem is that I don't understand the system used.
What is the meaning? Why to enter three moves?
Do the three moves appear in the window below if I enter them with good timing? And if that is the case, does that mean the computer picks the right escape automaticly?
So, what is the system used?

Throw escaping has nothing to do with which character you choose, it all depends on your skill. The upper box tells you which throw Jeffry used, while the lower one tells you which escape commands you used. Just wait until he grabs you, then enter the 3 throw escapes as quickly as you can. If you entered the correct escape, you will escape the throw and there should be a circle next to the correct command listed in the lower box.

Okay, thanks for your patience with me /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
With all this info you provided, I must be able to do it /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

It's not that difficult. Just do [6][P][P], wait a split second and then quickly enter [2][P]+[G], [6][P]+[G] and [P]+[G]. That's how the system works. If you enter these commands correctly, you should be able to break three different throws at once. That reduces the amount of guessing you have to do.

Well I finally suceeded to do it some times, but I think it has to do with my joystick. I have a rather cheap one (Hartig&Helling PSC66) but with quite some features. All buttons can seperately be set to turbo on or off. In free training I tested what was displayed and found out that I sometimes got , say, five echo's while I only inputted three!
I found out I have to be really fast to get even two throw escapes inputted in time.
What is usually the setting? Turbo on or off?

Turbo buttons?!! Forget about that. If you intend on getting good at the game, the first thing to do is stay away from shortcuts. That's just my opinion. Go to http://www.toysnjoys.com/access_ps2.html . I recommend either the "Hori VF4 stick" or the "Hori Tekken 4 stick".

Turbo buttons are for cheaters.....Train harder. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

After posting my last reply I found out that those turbo buttons are disadvantegeous, because it sometimes enters double input in the throw escapes, like unintended [P]+[G], [P]+[G] -commands in stead of single [P]+[G] so you are 100% right /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
    Thanks for the link!
