R.I.P Jam Master Jay

The man was shot at the recording studio, some sources have said something like 40 someard times in the head....fucked up, thats all I gotta say and such a waste. He was so instrumental in bringing hip hop to the forefront of american music and helping to break barriers...

 

There is plenty I dislike about hip-hop; I'm certainly not into it like I know Mr Shadowdean is. However, Run-DMC are (were?) one of the diamonds among the rocks, and I have to agree with you here. Their first two albums, in particular, were pretty special, and I agree that they were innovators (Rock Box being the first blend of guitars and rapping, for example).

Music aside, though, I've always believed Run-DMC - all three of them - to be nice guys; sincere, unpretentious, with no aspirations to be gangsters. To be killed in this way is truly a loss.

So, I pay my respects here.

40 shots in the head. Hmm, now I find it hard to conceive that someone would shoot someone in the head, reload, shoot them a lot more in what left of their head, reload, keep on wasting ammunition (the guy's dead, man) - reload - and keep going a bit more. A bit much, don't you think?

Yeah, the 40 is just a rumor, but thought I would throw it up anyways...History is littered with people shot waay more times than needed, the priests shot in Guatimalla in the 80's, per example.
