man, that sucks. are you at all affected by the fire that's going on? I've only heard bits and pieces but it sounds bad.

I'm lucky as far as fire is concerned. It's not close enough to be problematic. I do get smoke and ash raining down on my office (which is around 8 miles from the house) - but even that fire is in the mountains.

The geography surrounding my neighborhood and the North South corridor that the 15 freeway follows just magnifies the intensity of southbound winds. The wind can be trying to rip my garage door away from its moorings, yet, at my office, it is calm.

Today, the wind is gone and it's 95 degrees outside. This weekend shows it to be cooling off.

Weirdness.

 

good to know you're out of the largest danger. Wind can wreak havoc though!
