Ranked Or Player Matches?

What is everyone playing so far? I've stuck with player matches for a while and I've met some good players.

I'm predicting disconnects and the like in ranked...can anyone verify?

I used to be playing ranked matches only, but after getting to 6th dan there really werent many people to fight for rank points, except certain friends of mine who kick my ass and some other hard-to-beat people. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif So I started creating casual sessions on player match side as well.

The ranked and player side are pretty much identical in performance imo.

 

I play casual player matches for a few mins mainly to warm up a bit and just have some fun, and then go ranked for competition.

There are harder people, mostly the people in the top 10-20 list in ranked and you play them from time to time.

Performance wise they are the same, I myself rarely get any laggy matches, or people disconnecting.

 

Player mostly only because ranked becomes too frusterating.

 

yea, player if you don't want to yell. But if you choose rank expect to mute your mic and yell curses at your tv.

 

Player for now, I just need to get better with Fei.

 

I've spent about an equal amount of time in Player and Ranked VS modes. I've been disconnected twice in Ranked, but I'm willing to blame that on my own connection. My roommates have this fascination with torrenting stuff...

I'm a total VF noob though, so I've been spending most of my time in Quest and Dojo modes. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

 

I've met quite a few guys through player matches but I prefer ranked

 

I play both. Mostly player when I'm trying to practice in some way (evading/reversals, w/e) and then ranked just to actually try and win.

I haven't met anyone on either side that disconnects, or anything else unsavory. I do find that in player matches, people are about 100% more likely to actually chat, if that matters to anyone.
