Had loads of fun today. Seeing the Matches for Shun vs Akira and Jacky vs Akira in the finals were probably the most exciting highlights of the day.

Kudos to Genie, for hosting the event. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif We really gotta do this again. We don't really have to do this in the tournament fashion do we ? Just general melee sounds equally fun too. Though I'd admit that the lack of pressure (monetary or the fear of being ousted out of the game) would probably make us lazy.... /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

 

Melee sessions are fine. But there must be something at stake else, how would there be pressure? Stress and pressure makes people perform or crack. Well, we've witness such today /versus/images/icons/smile.gif Alan made it maybe he was cool under all that pressure, or he doesn't see any pressure at all /versus/images/icons/wink.gif Even after the supposed false starts skykeigo gave him. Hehe.

 

i think the pressure part is a good way to motivate the players as well as having something at stake...

y not haf a little ranking system among all of us?new players who joined will be noted as new this month or wateva...

for those who haf something on and cant make it(like me today)...just put them as last.and make a note tat they neva come.

in this way we can haf a monthly ranking sheet...and probably this can drive new players to train harder.and prolly if we spread the word around...it can bring about more ppl playing vf.

or haf a small little prize...

Kiat wa-lau what a major upset!

 

Hi People,
it may be obvious to people in Singapore but I just need to say err.. the win was pretty fluke as the format of direct elimination has the element of luck. I did not face both Kiat and Danny so not so bad. Even Wilson Sarah probably could have beaten me. After the tournament some of us went to danny's house to play and I got errmm trashed by them.

I was cool???? Maybe you should post my matches in the seeding round and show Chris and Jeff how bad it was....

I do not think you should post all the replays. Just choose those that are really good like the Danny's Akira and Zhifeng's shun. Some of the matches are not errr... very nice as some of us (like me) is pretty stressed. Dun waste people time to download them.

Still really thanks for organising it and it was really fun and exactly what we need to improve. I think it is so much more convenient to play PS2 than to go arcade. The ver C is also very different from Ver B.

I did not use MT much and it was mainly DS as MT is very weak in ver C. It is like learning Vanessa over again. I am really pissed by what they did to MT Vanessa's kkpp and p+k,p,k.

After you left, Wilson and Wildy came to my place and played till 6am in the morning. Wildy's jacky is really good but Wilson showed me how he beat his brother by using certain moves for akira. If only i had played with them all than i wouldn't have been trash by his Jacky. Even after playing non stop with them, i still have no confidence against his Jacky. Sigh.. lightning kicks... df+p,p,p.... However, i think the competition was really really great as its my first and congrates to Singapore's best van!

I think these are some funny things that happened yesterday.
1. Alan vs Kiat in the early matches. Alan went,'Eh? This move can like that one meh? I tot cannot?' Kiat went,' Oeiii! Cannot talk one lah.' Everyone laugh and Alan lost badly that match.

2. Kiat was maintaining a winning streak when it was nearing the finals and it was his turn, he went,' This one lose already nevermind right?' Genie went,' No! Lose already you're out!' Kiat,'Hah!?'. He lost to Sg_Lion that match.

Think there were some more laughs......

 

Yes alan, there is some luck in it. It did give the underdogs a chance. SG-Lion coming in was a surprise. It is true, in such a system certain matches are really high pressure matches. I will be seeing on how to improve the system a little better. Maybe I will call for a tournament again in Apr. Long after the launch VF4 NTSC U/C. There may be good players lurking here and secretly reading to implement techniques at home. Gamersquare has a high no. of VFfans.

 

Congrats to Alan!! nah : ). Anyway,he did very well in putting his vanessa's theory to use.Deadly.
Zhifeng might have been more deadly if he was playing verB.His arsernal of moves have been reduced due to new properties in C.
Danny was damn scary using his crouch dash siao combo but dunno why last min cock up? Must be genie's water. : )

Danny and i were having a drink in the kitchen.I was telling him "i think next match i vs u" he was going "wah lau fight lei fei" I was thinking "wah lau fight akira" Turn out i fought Chibita...... i mean SG-lion and he fought W's jacky.

Danny and i were having a drink in the kitchen. " Next time i thrash your akira ah!...................next time i tock your lei fei ah !!!!!" Then we went out to WATCH the finals!
