tried out and confirmed that b/d+p+k can reverse both high and mid p ...

just discovered that vf4 arcade vs cpu has at least 12 stages to go before dural coz being beaten on the 12 stages, possibly all 13 stages for all 13 characters ... exactly like vf2 style -> play all characters in the pre-set orders ... lion, le fei, pai, kage, jeffrey, vanessa, lau, aoi, shun, wolf, jacky, sarah (?), akira (?), dural ...

Well there's no real reason to get a PS2 before the VF4 release anyway, the üprice may drop even further until then. Or do you like to play Tekken Jag Torment? ;-)

 

Nah..got it for GT3..Devil May Cry...easily the two best games outta the entire list of PS2 games.

I think the order I saw in Singapore is a bit different

lion, le fei, pai, kage, jeffrey, vanessa, lau, aoi, shun, wolf, jacky

somehow I in singapore aoi is behind jacky, in fact I think Jacky is earlier than aoi, shun and wolf cuz I met him quite a number of times but just met aoi, wolf VERY VERY few times.

 

the order is:

LEI FEI
PAI
KAGE
JEFFERY
VANESSA
LAU
JACKY
AOI
SHUN
WOLF
SARAH
AKIRA
with a machine set on hard and also on 3 rounds to win, its a bloody chore to reach dural (i have yet to do it). i wish the operators would set the difficulty level to medium, and once people generally got a better understanding of the game, whack it up to the hard setting. I JUST WANT TO SEE DURAL!!!!

 

I haven't met Sarah yet. Just got to Wolf. Dunno what setting my machine is on but I sure hope is set really high. nobody challenges in Singapore. sigh... played vs CPU so boring.

 

Really? I found Pai, Kage and Aoi difficult. I thought Wolf was pretty easy when I got to him. Guess it depends on who you use and how. I'll tell you mate, you will flip when you see Dural. I hope she will be selectable in the home version. I'd use her in training mode to keep me on my toes. Who is your main character now? I'm going to get hardcore next month at the casino and I can't wait to get my revenge against your Aoi.

Dural is awesome and easier then Akira ( wich had me continuing more then I care to mention ) .
She has a verry cool stance and moves awesomly smooth .
Mind you the only reason I won in the final round was becouse she started an insane juggle on me for the second time , noticed she would go out of the ring if she continued so she stopped the juggle mid way 1 hit short of killing me , she slid an inch or so further and her weight made sure she still went out of the ring and hit the ground a fraction of a second before I hit it .
If she had done her entire juggle I would have been dead in the air and her ringout wouldnt have mattered .
There was hesitation in the CPU AI , twas cool .

 

I found Akira ok. I would poke the hell out of him with the Flamingo and use the Heel Seed/Slash Toe Kick Punt Kick when I got a MC. And when things ogt tight I would use Full Spin Dive into Moonsult to get out the way. He felt slower to me. Still as strong as ever but I beat him by keeping my distance and counter attacking. Dural on the other hand. Ha, I was down in ten seconds but I loved every second of it.

i use mainly vanessa these days, with aoi has a fall back character. i call my vanessa play 1/4 vanessa stlye, because i only use half the moves and throws from her defensive style. i have yet to learn her other stance. aoi is hard to play with still. for me she is still one of the weaker characters. her yin-yang stance is cool, but because i only use to inashi punches in VF3, i can't remember any good follow ups for knee, high & mid kick inashi's.

 

Keep training

Fair enough. Keep trying with them. One way or another we will clash. Still, I'm not cool with these "weak" "lower tier" tags. Why don't people except that their skills with X character aren't up to a level where they are competative? We control the characters so when the fight is lost it is us, the players who loose not the characters. This has nothing to do with you Madin, it's just a thought that's on my mind.....

People will always have an opinion on some charas being "weaker" than others, but it always impresses me a lot more when I see someone go on a win streak with one of the lesser rated charas like Shun or Pai. Long streaks with Jacky, Akira or Lau are great but they just don't impress me as much.

We still have a ton of new things to learn about this game before we start rating characters... People still have to learn Vanessa & Lei to their fullest, and with the detailed report that Myke gave in the VF4 FAQ thread and you (Adio) gave about Sarah, it sounds like the old standard characters have a lot of new things to play with and exploit in the game.
