Room ediquite

I am always a little apprehensive about jumping into random rooms (mostly because I don't know anyone). But what is the protocol on this? Can I just jump into a room if I see it open? Any do's and don'ts I should be aware of?

I used to host a lot of rooms on Xbox last year, and the basic policy is winner stays on (at the top of the player list, with the person underneath up next), all good connections welcome. When you see the clock get paused, it often means more invites are being sent out, and we're waiting for more players to arrive. It is easier to coordinate with a mic, or on the shoutbox here, but you can also send texts on console. Sometimes one person will stay in the room, but won't play for a while cuz of phonecalls, toilet, cooking etc.
It is much easier to arrange and get in rooms if everyone is on each other's friends list, as some guys run strictly private rooms (I usually keep a few public slots spare though, just in case).
As pointed out above, guys who yell obscenities or worse on the mic, or have connections fluctuating all over the place, probably won't get an invite another night. Play nice, play fair.
Most of us just wanna see at least a few basic combos, some outfits set, and a laid back attitude, cheers.
