I was always wondering...what kind orf music likes a fighting-game player? soft, fluent tunes aren't matching the stereotype... Personaly I'm a drum&bass soldier (DiLLinja hits hard!) /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif *jungLisT masSive!* what are your favourites?

I don't think the genre of fightinggames produces a special type of music taste (as to oppoesed to demographic issues and so on) but really just wanted to say that you're right; Dillinja rocks /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was rather thinking of that fighting-games are played by persons with more harcore-like music taste. I'm just curious:) besides, in my opinion soundtrack is very important in this kind of games (that's why I dont get Namco- Tekken 4 music sucks all the way )

Still don't think it influences music taste - every game out there would say the people who play the game listens to more hardcore music as it makes the group look cool in a whole mate. Besides; VF:EVo's music sucks actually (compare it to GGX etc) ^__^

But for what it's worth I listen to DnB (currently trying to produce DnB as it feels most interesting to me right now but hard cause I've grown up with trance my entire life) to Ambient. I love Trance / Techno that isn't commercial (an appregiator going fucktard in a happyscale with a girls voice singing love or something) thrown in for good measure in my mp3 list aswell. I listen to alot of music (I mean pure quantity of tracks) and wish I listened to more hiphop / rock but it's easier sticking to one specific scene. Anything clubby.

    Current favs example:

Vaniquer - Arc in the Sky (Trance).
BK & Paul Masterson - Mayhem in Miami (Hardhouse).
    Squarepusher - Tetra-Sync (DnB)
    Shapeshifter - Lola's Theme (House)
1200 Mics - Renaissence Superman (Psytrance)
Analog System - Strange Morning in December (Techno)

    It's a moodthing. d|^_^|b

Seems like alot of users here on VFDC listen to rap / hiphop though - you can find some musicthreads in the generalforum if you go back a while that might be of interest to you.

    Over and Out.

Yeah... This kind of confuses me. I often see patterns like this but then all of a sudden I find a hardcore gamer who listens to the likes of Britney Spears. So I figured I'll stay out of analyzing it anymore.

Anyways I like tons of music of different genres and bands. I think genres doesn't really matter that much cus for example a commercial (not necessarily bad but in this case i sorta mean that) techno song and a commercial metal song can be much more alike than a commercial metal song and a more hardcore music fan metal song. Sure the two might sound more alike with both using guitars and all the shit, but I mean below the surface. Enough of that...

Anyway my favourite albums happen to be thrash metal music: Metallicas and Slayers older albums (1988 and back). My all time fav album is Master of Puppets (Metallica), but I really love Reign In Blood (Slayer) to death because of it's sheer energy /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Lately (a year or so) I've been a big fan of Dream Theater (progressive metal) even though I only have Awake and Images & Words (fav). Other than that I listen to (in no particular order) Dire Straits, Cat Stevens, Daft Punk, a little Prodigy (only really like first 2 albums from what I've heard), Pink Floyd, Santana, beethoven, vivaldi, mozart, F-zero X music ( /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )... hmm ton of bands / artist that just don't come to mind now.

    Cya boys... music rules /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
