Ryan Hart In Japan...and Mousa rank already!!

So why does the UK have a poor reputation? And how does Ryan Hart beating the Japanese top players not help to promote a better image?

Months ago derrick and hatim used to post on her semi regularly. There was a lot of shit-talking and to be fair, derrick's was probably meant to be tongue-in-cheek and don king style. Hatim on the other hand posted stuff like "HHAHAHA I OWN VF4 for the PS2 AND YOU DON'T HAHAHA". In any case they (and one or two others, not you adio) gave the UK a shitty reputation for being full of trash talking pests.

It's probably unfair to characterize an entire country that way, but it's easier to say "UK players" than it is to name five out of seven UK posters.

Anyway, uk-guy went out of his way to point out how well ryan's doing in japan... nothing wrong with that, national pride. And a lot of what ryan says could be read as normal healthy pride. It's got to be tremendously pleasing to feel like you're among the world's best at something. The problem I have with it is stuff like "Kyasao didn`t challenge again after that and I`m not suprised, he would have got banged up again and he knows it." ... it comes across as disrespectful to kyasao and implies that ryan thinks he somehow owns kyasao, even though kyasao is a higher rank, probably has a higher win percentage overall, and it's understood that when two 85% players meet they're going to split 50/50 statistically, nobody owns anyone.


Anyway, to the UK players who know how to give credit where it's due (and not just to each other), sorry if you got lumped in with the rest. And sorry also to sound like I'm pissing on ryan's fire. I'm not, he's kicking ass and taking names, and it's a good thing. And his words were in a personal letter to a friend, maybe they'd be different if posted publicly.

 

Well none of the more serious UK gamers actually like the Dynamic League tournaments/Derrick's attitude,tournament system etc. and I feel the the community here is mis-represented by the posters that you mentioned Creed.

Of course people still play to get the prizes etc.

I was in Japan at the same time as Ryan although I have returned already. The things that were posted like
"Kyasao didn`t challenge again after that and I`m not suprised, he would have got banged up again and he knows it." are just the kind of things he says joking around with his VF mates. Actually him and Kyasao are good friends

A yr ago...i couldn't stand derrick's posts.
Now I get a good laff outta it whenever I come across his sometimes 'quite funny' posts. ( well to me they were...it's an attitude I couldn't take it seriously)

Maybe it's because I am conversing on a regular basis nowadays to a specific uk player...

but what the hell..I can't say I am annoyed by hatim or derrick anymore.

(Actually..i dun think they give a fuck how I feel abt them lol, but it was good [for me personally] that I patched things up with Hatim in pvt mail)

And personally, I dun feel Ryan was bragging in any ways. Esp in light of knowing that ryan n kyasao have been friends for some time now (stop ringing me at midnight ryan as kyasao would say hahaha!)....it's just friendly smack talking (kinda like mukki n ohsu)

Ryan to me, is just one of those experiments gone wrong...a freak.....genius hehe

He is indeed registered on this board, if some of you could actually figure out his nickname..it is quite funny!

5 members? if any of those is me, then i guess i'll apologise for anything which seemed to get on your nerves. i'm not sure what i was like back then, but all i could remember was to try to help others, but i mostly got things wrong. well, i normally have more questions nowadays than wrong answers, and i tend to read alot more too. if i somehow made the UK bunch look like trash, i'll apologise to them too..

they are a fantastic bunch and strongly an outstanding competition, ryan is only one of a few great VFers here in the UK, some don't post (i.e Oda Modu & Universal Soldier) but certainly don't make us look like a joke.

UK CREW, U ROK!... and RYAN, U KEEP ROKING!

Hell, id have to say that the uk has some very good talent beacause i aint downloaded a vf mpg for ages as i dont need to, all i have to do is go and see it live
