Just in case there's a few old school 2d fighter fans lurking that, like myself, don't spend time keeping up to date:
    homepage
    brief article
looks like a new 2d Samurai Spirits / Shodown game is on the way . . .

We've been waiting for this game for about 5 years now...

I wonder who will be in the game...

Well, it seems that they haven't redone much of the old graphics (not that it really need it tho), though some of the charas seem to have new sprites like the fire/water bros. (I forget their names /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Dude with the 5 swords looks cool, as does the archer girl.

    ......but....... WHAT THE COCK ??!?!!!?1!?!!????

    Already saw them thanks ^_^

They are reusing SS4 sprites... I was hoping for new sprites...

They redrew Rimururu though, she has the SS64 part 2 design.

I'll be waiting for the game, the system seems interesting

Again, for the slowly informed such as myself, here's a
newsgroup thread with a couple of short gameplay videos and a stroll through the selection screen. Not all that impressive, but does show the "what the cock" character . . . slightly disturbing in motion, to say the least.

Other info i've seen refers to button layout:
    A weak slash
    B med slash
    A+B strong slash
    C kick
    D dodge / roll / special (ugh!)

The 20+ character lineup, even with recycled sprites, seems nice, but i'm reserving judgement on the gameplay, holding out hope that it's not as bad as ss3 . . .
