ok since over at gamefaqs all the boards for SC2 are just crap, i was wondering if any of you had this game and could give me some tips? I use Taki, and i rented it for gamecube, but the controls feel so damn strange! nevermind it feels like such a button masher and there isn't even a decent training mode!!!

I got the game recently, but I'm not exactly an expert at it. The best place to go for information is the official SC2 site

ok i haven't been using forums for fighting games for a long time so i'm not used to that whole number system, could someone explain that too me? cuz SC2 seems like such a button masher and when i'm lookin for insight all i see is a list of freakin numbers!

The numbers correspond to the numeric keypad on your keyboard.
    Example: 6236A = f,d,d/f,f+A

Go to either http://www.guardimpact.com and http://www.soulcalibur.com to get some decent information on the game. One of those sites has a legend to explain the numerical reference system they use for moves.

OMG don't visit GI.com unles you want a good laugh.

    u ilieik hat doggs?

Anyway SC.com is where it's at, just as long as you follow 2 simple rules:

    1. Stay away from "The Calibur II Forum"
    2. Stay away from "The General Lounge"

Other than that SC.com is pretty good.

The game isn't that great and I have tons of good people to play it with. Just seems like crap when there is VF and Tekken. Guess its alright if you just want to fight and not think too much.- probably why Americans play it.

Anyways, the numbers represent the direction inputs and is translated by looking at your number keys on the right side of a keyboard while your character is facing right.

ok those forums seem pretty useless to me since i really dont even understand what moves they're talking about!? is there a movelist somewhere to look at since this shite game doesn't even have one you can look at while playing!(i know you can pause, but thats useless) i found one but i want a better organized one and one that could be printed prefarably...any help would be great! OMG! i just spent a few in training mode going through that awkward command list and holy shite is there way too many moves! they're all so similar i can't even remember which is which nevermind there is like a ridiculous amount of them!!!

Yea the training is really weak. If you really need something to look at while you're playing just go get the guide

OMG my brother just reminded me how you could break your weapon in Soul Edge but not anymore in Soul calibur 2! you'd think they'd add depth instead of removing it!

I'd have to agree with that. SoundWave's comment did come across as ignorant. It's like someone saying "OMG all the stages in VF4 are flat! you'd think they'd add depth instead of remove it."

Making comments like that on a game you hired makes you sound almost as bad as a mainstream games reviewer.

wtf? damn this page really does suck even the moderators can't set a decent example...i sai OMG just because i was shocked! nothing more, and i didn't "hire" any game!? i just had forgotten that back in the day in Soul Edge you could break weapons, which was a really good point in the game and didn't let people turtle forever, then they had teh Souledge moves which broke your weapon if blocked and such....so i was kinda shocked and pissed when i remembered that cuz in the newer "better" version they took it out! thats it!!! god damn.

No, you said more than just express your shock and say "OMG". To be precise, you said:

OMG my brother just reminded me how you could break your weapon in Soul Edge but not anymore in Soul calibur 2! you'd think they'd add depth instead of removing it!

What kind of example do you expect me to set anyway? If I see ignorant shit being posted, and if I'm in the mood, then I'll call you out.

and i didn't "hire" any game!?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? Then why, in the first post, did you say:

I use Taki, and i rented it for gamecube, but the controls feel so damn strange! nevermind it feels like such a button masher and there isn't even a decent training mode!!!

Must be something wrong with my reading comprehension.

Again, for a game you have no idea how to play, implying it has less depth and just a buttom smashing game comes off as ignorant. Nobody cares for an uninformed and uneducated opinion. In fact, many find it offensive.

I suspect hired for Myke would be rented for us yanks. An elegant little use for the word too, if you think about it. English is a fantastic language. Did you know that the word newfangled comes from as far back as and can be found in Chaucer? To continue the tangent, in Chaucer occasionally the word ask is spelled AXE. Fancy shit. Almost as cool as italics.

Anyway, Soul Calibur is not my cup of tea. VF is the shit, yo!
