    Last Updated on March 21, 2023. Season 1 of the Challenge Cup series culminates with the Pro Championship event on March 19, 2023. 7 JeSU Pro Licensed Virtua Fighter players will compete for the grand prize of 1,000,000 Yen with the Runner-up receiving a prize of 300,000 Yen.

    This is part of Sega's official online and offline events for Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown (Virtua Fighter eSports in Japan). Season 1 features three Challenge Cups and ends with a Pro player event in 2023.

    I will keep this thread up-to-date for Season 1. By the end of Season 1, there will have been 5 Challenge Cups. I will refer to the different Challenge Cups by #.# (Season # . Cup #)

    VIRTUA FIGHTER esports PRO CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 - March 19, 2023


    Results: The finals was a rematch of the Challenge Cup 1.2 between Tonchan and Janne, both Jacky experts. After Janne took the lead, Tonchan switch to Akira and won the Pro Championship. Both players received prize money, and Tonchan was awarded the title 創造神 (Souzoushin, Creator God).

    All players in each block will play against each other in a first to 3 wins set. Initial matches between players will be the character listed by their names. Player that lost a match, may switch characters. The top player in each block will compete in the finals, which will be a first to 5 wins set.       Reorao played unbelievably well in this tournament. In this particular Semi Final match he was literally on the ropes, his body language and actions (or lack thereof) during the matches were seemingly from someone who had given up, but he somehow managed to pull it together when it mattered and took it all the way!

      Either they're preparing a strong marketing push for "something" on that period around March/April or .. idek!

      The A block that jokingly (?) all the players do not want to be in because Tonchan is in it. So the favourite to win is Tonchan. However, Kamereon won the Challenge Cup 0.2 by beating Tonchan in the Semi-Finals. Also, Yogo defeated Tonchan in a FT10 exhibition on Dengeki Virtua Road.

      In my opinion, Shiwa is the favourite to win B block. He will have to finish better than: 1) long time veteran Reorao who also went by the nickname Gorgeous Eileen; 2) Barugo - runner up in the Pre-Season Match in Season 0; and 3) Janne - Kansai player with a long list of success in tournaments these past few years.
