Hello all, great board! I've been fooling around editing virtua fighter 4 PS2 trying to mess with the character models and stumbled on something. There is a stage called "VIP" stage, which is a secret stage in the game..I was able to load about 80 percent of it without it crashing, but I have no idea how you get to it normally. It's basically in a house (Yu Suzuki's?) and you are mouse sized, while everything else is HUGE Books, Teacup, Laptop, and the ring floor is neon. I'm guessing this stage is a reward for the best of the best in kumite..so if you don't want spoilers don't click on the rm file! Here is what I could load of the stage, as well as some other fun stuff I messed with.

If anyone is really good at hex editing, let me know! I'm not really good but I could still do all this.

P.S. sorry for the double post, I wasn't sure where I should put this

Can you post in another file format please? A lot of us have "issues" with RM files.

Here are some screenshots if you can'
    t play rm files:

    http://www.werewolf-johnson.com/screens/

I used winhex, InsISo, and edited the SLUS_203.23 file, I'll let you know if I come across any more secrets such as Items or unlisted moves.

One interested thing is that Lei-Fei is referenced as "BOZE" (original name?) and Vanessa as "BLACK" while everybody elses name is normal. Theres also an AYU but I think it just might be vanessa again.

the VIP stage is the stage that shows up at the end credits on the vf4 ARCADE machine, you know, the one that shows the vf1 models at the end.... also you can see the arcade ending on ps2 if you have a ps2 hard drive ....for the japanese ps2 console, im not sure about the arcade intro tho.

    good find killingarts!

re: the hex editing, what's your method here?
Take the VF4 CD image, extract the gigantic chunk of binary data from it, then use a hex editor to dig through that for stuff that looks easily fooled with? and then burn it onto CD and see what the PS2 does with it?

Someone managed to figure out a pro action replay code for saturn VF2 that allowed each character to use some other character's moves. I have a little clip of pai doing akira's SPoD... anyway, any chance you could figure out a way to do that? And make some movies? /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

PS: I mirrored these clips and made .avi versions available for those without realplayer.

Creed: Essentially thats what I hope to do! Change the moves around to make a super character that can SPod, TFT, and get into all the various stances. The Slus file on the CD is what I've been working with. You can just grab it off the cd, then you have to make an ISO file, then insert the edited file into the iso using InsIso without changing the file size. Winhex, is the easiest Hex editor to use, I think.

Piccolo, I don't think I have enough know how to do that /versus/images/icons/frown.gif I bought the japanese version too, and was sad when I couldn't use my char on the U.S. version..my poor Aoi..

HighKing: If you have a mod chip, all you need is WInhex, a burning prog that can make an iso and InsIso, make sure you burn the iso Mode 2

I'll let you guys know if I find anything else of interest!

from google.com :B ... just search for the file names.
Hex editors include winhex and hiew. Insiso and isobuster both deal with CD image files. To burn CD images you can use nero, fireburner, etc...

    You get the idea.

ther is nothing wrong with resurecting posts especially when there is nothing else new happening.Anyway this says secret level and other goodies yet they can only be achieved by hex editing and watnot,Ithought we had some genuine goodies here but i guess i was wrong
